Be honest: When you are invited to a shower, when do you usually buy your gift?????
I have been stalking my registries since invites were mailed and only 1 person has purchased a gift. The friend that bought the gift is a bm and lives in london so she can't come.
I must say that I have been known to put $150 in an envelope and call it a day. I write a lovely note in the card stating that the bride and groom deserve an evening out to relax and destress.

i hate to admit this but i always try to go ahead of time but somehow wait until the last possible moment. Many times ive bought it the day before

I would say the weekend before (since I never have time to do anything after work!)....for all occasions, not just showers

about a week before but now that im on the other side and am the reciever...im dyyyying that nothings coming off my registry yet. one item came off and i really wanna know who the early bird is.

Usually within a week or two before. I leave myself a few days to wrap it and get the card. If it looks like availability is dwindling on the registry quickly, I high tail it to the store earlier.

i typically do it a few weeks before a event this way i don't break/hit the damn book since i am such a clutz lately.

i order online a day or two after the invitation arrives
if i know i will be invited to the shower i will order BEFORE the invitation arrives so I can get the best pick

I'm horrible I am a last minute shopper when it comes to everything. Even worse I am a last minute rsvp'er, I know better then that. But on the plus I get it done on time
