Beach Wedding?

Beach Wedding?

Okay Girlies -

Now for a question for a close friend of mine who is getting married for like the 4th time (long story). She wants to get married on the water, barefoot on a beach this time and i've almost convinced here to come to LI to do it! (I told her that maybe I need to meet this new guy - as I didn't meet any of the others)...so she's open to a NY beach wedding..

Any ideas or thoughts for it? I don't know how to go about finding out if you need a permit or anything. We'd probably be looking at something in the fall on Jones or Robert Moses and then a smallish dinner somewhere....

TIA BIG TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Public beaches on LI are governed by the Parks Department. Go into the NY State website for links. I would think that you would need a permit.

What about Guerney's Inn at Montauk. Would they do a wedding on the beach ?

I am getting married at a private beach club in Atlantic Beach, NY. The Ocean Club, it isn't really out there to the public (yet) but they have a gorgeous room that fits 225, the view is of the beach, the CH is being held on their 2 level outdoor deck and our ceremony is on the sand. It is really beautiful. If you want I can forward you pictures. We had to be sponsored by someone that belongs there but i think the word is getting out and they will actually work with you now.

i just booked the Crescent Beach Club. You should look there. It reasonably priced if she doesn't get married on a Saturday night. The CH and ceremony are both on a deck that is steps from the beach. The palm trees are a great touch too.

My FBIL and his fiance are getting married on Smith Point Beach....I don't know the details, but I'm pretty sure they didn't need to pay a fee or get any special permits.

I'll ask next time I see them though!

Friends of mine got married on Lido Beach. They needed a permit for it. Then the reception was at the Lido Beach Golf Club across the street. It was very nice and not so pricy. FM me if you want more info and I will see what I can find out from my friend.

crescent beach club. it's pricier than the other RH's out there but the view is amazing and the food is very manhattan style.

I'm getting married at Orient Beach State Park. We had to get a 'Group Use' permit. It cost us $225 and it includes the pavillion rental. I don't know what it would be for ceremony only. Call 631-669-1000 and ask for the permits department.
