Beauty Schools-HELP!

Anyone know if a beauty school/Hairdresser school in Woodbury? or around there? People are flipping out when they hear about the rates I have been quoted for an up do and makeup.

I wish I could go to the clinique counter at the Walt Whitman Mall and get my makeup done- for nothing, practically. But, I must be 'done" by 8 am. No chance there. SO I am looking for alternatives.

What don't you try Claudines they are hair dressing and makeup which is where I am going for everything. They are in Howard Beach. For my wedding I am going to be there at 6 am in the morning.

someone in Woodbury. We will be at the hotel from sat pm on. I live in Bklyn and didn't want to worry about trying to get out to woodbury on my wedding morning- with Jones Beach traffic..all the way from bklyn. So, I will be in the hotel from the afternoon before and need information for beauty schools or people who do this out of the home...in long island.

I have tried to get technicians from queens to travel. Either they won't or they will charge me $75 to get in their car that morning. Doesn't really save me $ that way Thanks for the help! Sorry I am grouchy this morning. I am having a hard time working out a hair style that costs $35 in the salon should now cost me $100 just because I am getting married.

I booked all my hotels yesterday but am still open for changes. I'll check into that hotel. It sounds really nice. Right now we booked a room at the Hilton in Sonoma (they will give us a really good upgrade because I'm Hilton Platinum and we're a honeymoon couple). But it sounds like the place you mentioned has much more ambiance.

I had the same problem...do you have any friend who is a Mary Kay representative? I had a friend suggest this to me and it seemed like a good idea...

I really like the water view at PJCC also. Amazing. I wasnt to crazy about their inside cocktail hour room, and if the weather is bad and it ends up inside, I wont be too thrilled. BUT they were most within my price range.

yeah- I though t about that too. My SIL who is in the bridal party is a MK rep. She is very successful at it too, and I have purchased items from her. But, I dont think her application techniques are up to what I need. She is good, but I wear this stuff everyday and it doesn't seem to last long enuf. At least, the way I put it on it doesn't.

i went for a make-up test with my next door neighbor who is a Mary Kay person last night and my face and neck are all blotchy and broken out...whomever you go to, I would suggest a test-run with plenty of time to heal up if something goes wrong.....

It has alot of good bouquet pictures on it. I also wanted to add that going to the florist was so hard because I didn't have an exact image or type of flowers that I wanted, but bringing pictures helped. I still havent picked a florist yet...

I use it every day - so I dont' have any allergic reactin to it. My thing is that it dones' seem to stay on all day. And I suffer with dark circles so I am trying their yellow concealer which works ok. but I know I am not putting it all together the right way cuz as soon as I put on a little blush, the circles seem to reappear. I don't have enough confidence in my SIL who is a rep to show me how to fix what I am doing, though.

So I am looking up beauty schools to see if they have a crash course where they can show me how to put on a "FACE".

or maybe I'll get another MK rep to show me how to apply my products.

OR IT COULD BE PRICED WITH PUTTING YOUR HEADPIECE ON AND SOME PEOPLE(HAIRDRESSERS) GIVE UP A WHOLE DAY OF WORK TO DO A WEDDING, SO ITS REALLY THE TIME YOU ARE PAYING FOR. IF SOMEONE TELLS YOU BECAUSE YOU ARE A"BRIDE" AND YOU DONT NEED THEM TO PUT ON YOUR HEADPIECE AND ITS AT A TIME THAT THE SHOP IS OPEN ANYWAY THEY STILL GIVE YOU A HIGHER PRICE DONT USE THEM! THATS NOT RIGHT!

I USE M.A.C MAKE-UP THEY HAVE REALLY GOOD COVER UP. YOU SAID YOU ARE USING YELLOW UNDER YOUR EYES? TRY USING SOMETHING WITH MORE "RED"(ROSE)IN IT. IT MIGHT GIVE YOU MORE LIFE TO YOUR EYES AND FACE. AND IF YOU WANT TO GO TO THE M.A.C STORE, GO TO THE M.A.C "PRO" STORE IN THE CITY THEY HAVE SO MUCH MORE THAN THE OTHER MAC STORES.
