what do we need to get our marriage license? birth cert, passport?
we are going sometime next week and I also wanted to know what to bring. We can go to any town hall, right? We don't have to go to the city one since FH is from Brooklyn.....right?

ON Long Island it's just a form of photo id - passport or driver's license... and your birth certificate.

I read that we would need our birth certificates and licenses. But they ended up only asking for our licenses. I would bring your birth certificates just in case. Yes you can go to any office you want.

Not sure about where you can go, we went to the Queens Court House. We only needed a photo ID- DH used his driver's license while I had my passport. We didn't need our birth certificates.

We brought our licenses and our baptism certificates because my birth certificate was sent in for my passport renewal. Oh, and no copies, has to be originals!

i went yesterday to the City Clerk in manhattan (where we live).
We filled out the form on the city clerk's website before we went. Gave them our confirmation number from filing out the form, our drivers licenses (which do not say we live in manhattan, fyi) and a credit card!
