I am registered at fortunoff for china. It went up in price by $20...but comes with a free soup bowl (value $75). They have it at bed bath and beyond, where im also registered. If i register the china there...can people purchase it in the store, are they allowed to use the 20% coupon, and do they ever offer free gifts with the set?
What do you think....never thought of it as a place for china....but im upset by the raise in price.

I know you can use the 20% at Bed Bath and Beyond. When I was last there, they had a section for china so I think you can buy it at the store. I think it would depend on which set you registered for. I would go to the store and take a look. The one I went to was in Stamford, CT but I'm sure the ones in NY are similar.

Not all the bed, bath and beyond stores carry the china, but it's definitely been a breeze ordering online for my family (or via phone). And they have great customer service...if any of your sets come with any sort of defect or something that you are not happy with, you can return it to the store and have them order you a replacement or get the cash.
The downside is you can't use the coupons online

Even if the BBB stores don't actually have the china, if they have a bridal registry, they can ORDER the china for your guests. All they have to do is go to the store and place the order. That's what I was told. I registered for some of my china there.
What china did you register for at Fortunoff's, btw? I registered for the Lenox Opal Innocence...hope it didn't go up!

I just called BBB and you can use the coupons on any china, however they were a little weird about matching the bonus items. THe guy at 1-800-GO-BEYOND said you have to find out from your local BBB, I guess where you registered, to see if the bonus is just for a certain store (i.e. Fortunoff)
So, I asked about other people buying the china in different stores and he said they have to contact the one they want to buy it from.

I just called the BBB where I registered, and he said that he will find out if they can get my china, and they will be more than happy to match the bonus!!!!!
That means 20% off, DOUBLE bonus, and CASH back if I return!!!!

weird becaus ei just looked at the coupons and it says it isnt valid on and lists the china brands!

Well.....hmmmmm......uuhhhhh.....I don't have an answer for that. I spoke to 2 people and both said you could use it on any china. What brands can't you use it on? I hope not Wedgewood!

Ok. My china is registered at Macy's. But, I bought the china piece from a BBB in South Jersey- that particular store has a huge bridal registry section. They even display china and crystal (lenox, waterford, wedgewood, noritake, etc.). It's a beautiful store!! It was love at first sight!
I'm looking at a $5 coupon and it doesn't list any china exceptions. I am also looking at a 20% coupon that was to expire on 3/24/05 (their coupons never expire) and it does not list any china/crystal exceptions. In fact, it says, 'We will not be undersold. Guaranteed! If you find a lower price at any of our competitiors, we will meet that price.' It does say that exceptions may apply, but I doubt that they would lose a sale on a registry item. No one wants to see an unhappy bride!
My china is waterford and crystal is marquis by waterford.
I hope you get to buy your china for less- good luck!!
awesome then! i am sorry didnt mean to confuse anyone, just was telling you what hte coupon i had said, it was a $5 off one. and i realized it was one that was sent out in a catalog. i looked at one i got in the mail and it didnt say you couldnt.

wow...thanks everyone!! That was so nice of everyone to research!! Im a little nervous about trusting BBandB....i like their registry...but dont like the inconsistent responses...ill have to see. I ordered the Vera Wang Blanc Sur Blanc by wedgwood. We fell in love with it at the old price...and finding it hard to pick a different one with the price increase. I will prob keep thinking about it...thanks everyone!
