Nope! My parents aren't like that anyway. My dad is from Italy and doesn't comprehend how things work in America

John asked my dad...I was actually at my parents house(john and I live together) and I *thought * john was working...all the sudden at 8ish my dad left the house and we were like where did he go? when he came back u could tell somthing was wierd but insisted he went to pick up a RX...

2 weeks later John asked me...he told me that he pretended he was working so that i wouldnt ask where he was and stuff lol, met my dad in a dunkin doughnuts parking lot(shady) and my dad was like john what is up when he got in the car...and john pulled out the ring and said this is whats up!...my dad was in shock and john said he cried and was just really happy for us...

my dad is like the typical italian guy and doesnt show emotion..so when I heard how he reacted I was so happy

He asked both my mom and dad seperately.....he said he was soooo nervous......after being with me after 6 years I don't think it was much of a surpise to them, but he felt it only right to have their blessings

yes mine did... he was a nervous wreck too from what ive heard.. haha. but my parents loveeee him.

yes he asked my parents,a few weeks b4 he pulled the ques....sneaky sneaky! they were both there so i guess he spoke openly, prob geared towards my dad!!

He proposed and asked my dad when he got back from Vacation.I was still on a cruise when he asked. It was very cute.

fh asked my mom, my daughter and my brother.. actually he had been talking to my brother bout it for several weeks ahead of time.. about a week before, he asked my mom and the night of before i came downstairs he asked my daughter if it was okay with her if he married her mommy and became her stepdaddy.. he told her he loved us both very much and wantd to be there for us..

That is so sweet!!!

my parents said they didnt mind.

that is cute!! My FH didn't show anyone the ring, he wanted me to be the first to see it!

Yes he did! He met my parents for dinner somewhere so he knew I wouldn't be around.

same here......he wouldn't show the ring to anybody, everyone was DYING to see it- he picked it up 4 days before he proposed and had to hide it in his Mom's house (and he had to hide it from her too - so she couldn't do any peeking lol)......my mom, sister and grandma flew in from florida the next day (july 4th) so luckily for them they didn't have to wait to long to see it!
