Before you give you fh any 'authority' on tuxes..

I told fh to get what he wants. He wears nice suits to work every day and he always dresses dapper.

Well, my bm dresses are sage green. My colors are pink and green and ivory. He knows this.

he picked YELLOW tuxedo vests
YES YELLOW!

i told him to 'get what he likes'
and he chooses YELLOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i freaked on him
he said it can be changed- thank God!!!!!!!!!

hes like 'you said i could get what i want- yellow is my favorite color'

omg i almost flipped!

This is exactly the reason why I went with him to choose tuxes!!! Although I think he would have done okay by himself!!

I'm sorry, but that is kinda funny! I gave my FH no flexibility. I told him what I liked out of 3 choices and he picked out of that assortment! He told me I didn't need to be involved in this and I told him I did and didn't give him a choice.

He mostly picked out his and the guys but for his father he wanted him in a white jacket to match his mom, I was like 'HELLO, she's wearing ivory/cream' He said same difference. I showed him the difference and he was like 'oh OK, you're right!!!' Duh, we've been together so long, he should know I'm always right!!!

I'll just say that I'm ideologically opposed to matching. So my guys wore black pinstripe tuxes with silver accesories and my girls wore blue dresses. They didn't 'match' but they sure like they belonged in the same BP and my DH and I both loved how everyone looked.

Maybe your DH was trying to stick with the 'soft color' theme and pick something he actually liked.

See what happens when you give free rein and you don't really mean it?

Sorry -- I had to laugh at that! I already explained to one of FH's ushers what I wanted. I know its supposed to be a guy thing, but I'm starting to think that maybe I should go with FH to get his tux....
