Being a MOH s*cks!!!!! Updated!

Original post by rdubs

Update--Another bridesmaid and I talked to the bride last night and convinced her that A/C will be a blast and not too cheesy! I'm so happy that I don't have to put a security deposit down on a house in Hamptons and all I have to do is make hotel reservations at the Tropicana!

Thanks everyone for support---it was a rough day yesterday (especially after getting a rude e-mail from other bridesmaids that demand we change so that she can attend her 5-year old nephew's birthday party ) but all is well now.

Phew.

The BEST part is when one of the bridesmaids you don't even get along with write you this after the bride and everyone has already picked the date (because we can only get a house in Hamptons the weekend after Labor Day). The reason this bridesmaid can't go is because its her 5 year old NEPHEW'S birthday:

'I'm sending this to you bc I don't want elizabeth to have any added stress. But the fact is that I'm quite upset about the bach party bc I really wanted to be there for Elizabeth. But since you made it more about saving money and less about having all her friends there I can't go. And only had one weekend that I have prior commitments. And I would be one of maybe 2 that would actually have to fly thus spending even more money! And I would willingly. Do I rank that low on the list to not have taken time to reconsider?'

Seriously? Can I just be demoted? I'm not even responding to her....

tell her to plan it. And to coordinate all of the brides friends and prior obligations. *****. Esp since you are being not at all demanding.

OMG who does this girl think she is??? Seriously that is just MESSED UP! I would flip the EFF out!!!!

Or beter yet tell the demading bride... look I am doing my best to accomodate everyone but it isn't going to happen. So let you decide... either the BM can be there, or your MOH! Make her see how it feels to be forced to do something she wouldn't want to do.

You aren't demanding a house in the Hamptons with a pool. VERY different.

So I'm having trouble deciding what to do...the bridesmaid asked me NOT to talk to Elizabeth so I'm considering handling this myself and responding in the most adult way possible and not be as rude as she was in my e-mail.....

you're a bigger person than I am.... I would sooo be rude back... lol
