So, this past weekend was my best-friend's 30th birthday party. Her mom got her a belly dancer. So much fun!!! I actually lost a ton of weight a few yrs ago by belly dancing.
Anyways, I want one at the wedding so bad! FH doesn't think it's a good idea. My cousin had a belly dancer at her wedding...(she married someone who was Egyptian and belly dancers at weddings are common.)
I think it would be so much fun. Opinions? Obviously, I'm not doing it if it's a gazillion dollars. Maybe I'll suprise FH!!

I think I saw this on a wedding show or preview this weekend!!! If you want it - then go for it hun!! I am all about keeping your guest excited for what's next at your wedding!
We are having a professional River Dancer at our wedding! I cant wait to surprise everyone!!!!

No, not Egyptian. That's a great idea to do it at the shower!!! I need to make sure that my sister will actually get a belly dancer for my shower. I need to tell FH to start spreading the word. Thanks.

The only reason i thought no if you arent egyption is that usually you pay them buy the hour so then it is an hour that you will be basically be belly dancing at the wedding and if your friends and family aren't into that everyone might not be dancing. If you just want a quick performance that would be cool

That's good to know. I'm gonna look into prices. Yeah, I wouldn't want one hour of belly dancing at my wedding!! lol...I think FH would kill me!! lol

I'm a professional bellydancer. Two other friends and I used to have our own small company for like 1/2 year but it didn't work out becuase none of us had the enough time to fully dedicate to it. We used to dance at weddings, and other events, we also taught BD to girls. It was the best time!

It depends whow u book with. We used to charge by the number of dances (how intrigated they were, like cabaret, veil, sword, candles). Usually people want 2 to 3 dances.

Typically, for a shower how much do you think a fair price would be for like 2 dances by only one dancer?

It can be from 150 to 200 (usually each song is between 3 minutes to 4). But if the BDancer is pretty well-know, it can be more.
It's well worth it, especially if u like to have something different, since people won't expect it. I can FM u if u want me to recommend u some dancers.
