Best and Worst Favor ideas

Original post by marymoon

What are the best and worst favors you've gotten at a wedding/shower/e-party, etc.

The best I think is the heart shaped half cup scoop at my cousin's shower. i'm biased though. I picked it out.

The worst was a CD of the coupkle's wedding. EVERYONE went NUTS over it. But I don't have the same tastes and I've never listened to it. If it werent my sister and BIL, I'd have thrown it out.

Re: Best and Worst Favor ideas

A few people FM'd me about where to get those 'Eat Drink and Be Merry' napkin rings - so i thought i'd post the address to the list.

www.beau-coup.com

they have lots of interesting favor ideas - some are out of my price range, but it's nice to windowshop!

(the napkin rings are listed as holiday/seasonal favors - though my friend's wedding was in the summer - i never thought of them as strictly seasonal.)

Enjoy!

OMG I had completely misread the price of my friend's favor - the napkin rings - it's $24!!!!!!!!! I thought it was $6!!!!! it says $24 for a boxed set of 4 and stupid me, I thought you received 4 sets of 4 rings - not one box of 4 freakin napkin rings!

Maybe my memory is totally off and I received this as a bridesmaid's gift and not a favor. I can't imagine anyone spending that much on a favor.

Sorry!

I like any kind candy or donations. I am doing candy and a place card frame. I'll be sending pictures with the thank yous so they have something to put in it too or if they don't like us maybe another picture.. A nice size wallet one. I like candles too- except the ones I like are never given as favors.

I really don't like most favors that people give out. Most of them look cheap or I just don't know what to do with them.

I always like the favors from weddings...I'm not a big fan of donations though. I'm not sure how a donation and a wedding have anything in common. Shouldn't you just give the donation on your own? What does it have to do with your wedding? Not in lieu of a thank you to your guests... seems like a weird gift or thank you.

about the hershey kisses. I also don't like chocolate as a favor because you eat it and it's gone! I like the idea of the tree favor, but I'd have nowhere to plant a tree and if I did and it died I'd feel really bad. You get this poem about the tree growing with the couple and then it dies, and then what does that mean? Too much pressure!

I understand the thing with the tree anxiety...that's why we didn't get a tree, bulbs or seeds for people to plant...I didn't want them to go to waste.

Honestly..I feel the same about releasing butterflys...a friend did that and they were all dead! What does that mean???
