So on another thread someone posted a great garlic chopper from BBB that I added on my registry. It made me think that there are probably a bunch of those great gifts that I'm missing. I did a search but couldn't find a thread.

Hands down it was one of my invitations professionally framed in a GORGOEOUS ornate frame, with dried flowers surrounding it (apparently grown in the womans garden that made the frame invite). It was stunning. I wish I had a pic of it.
Such a BEAUTIFUL, thoughtful, and memorable gift.
My moms friend did this for me too. I LOVE it!! So thoughtful- and we were able to display it at the wedding.
LOL but you cant really register for that. But maybe if you know someone crafty you could ask them to do this for you.

Of course all of the new pots and pans, mixers, choppers, etc....are great! BUT, I love the album that was made for me. The front says 'Mrs. Brady's Secret Recipes'. And inside is all of the takeout menus in my neighborhood.
I loved that!

Some of these creative gifts are awesome! I love when people go the extra mile to make a nice whole gift. For my shower I got a bunch of baking and cookie related gifts (cutters, rolling pin etc)from my BMs along with a gift cert for a massage! Also a picnic basket with the margarita glasses we registered for along witha ll the ingredients for a margarita which was so cute!

My friend gives a picnic basket for all the weddings he goes to (they are all different ones!). I can't wait to get mine... I'm sure it'll be my favorite gift! Can't wait for those picnics in central park.

my aunt made me a quilt!!!! she lives in Ireland and did the Irish wedding pattern for the quilt. she even sitiched in our names and the wedding date! LOVE IT!
I received a lot of sentimental/cultural things as well. LIke Mom gave me my Virgin Mary statue and I received a horseshoe (Irish tradition to be given to you by a cilhd on your wedding day). Corny, but meaningful.
In terms of our registry items, my favorite gifts was my china, everyday dishes and our pots.

My parents supprised me and paid for my Grandma to come to the church by ambulette. I think seeing my Grandma at the church was priceless.
