In other words... what wedding have you been to where you thought the food was to die for!
You know... the wedding you walked out of and said 'WOW'

Re: Best Menu Around
I would also say one of Abigail Kirsch's venues. She has such a wonderful unique & tasty menu. We also just went to a wedding at Leonard's and the food was incredible. They had a great spread and everyone was raving about it.
As for a place I thought the food was ok, nothing special was the Watermill. I just went to a wedding there and wasn't impressed at all with the food. I have a few friends who work in the business and said that the Scotto Brothers are moving towards quantity, not quality. I did go to a RD at the Fox Hollow Steakhouse (don't know if it has its' own name), but it was excellent.

Crescent??
Does anyone know how the food is at the crescent? I've heard conflicting reports. We are holding a date there in 2005. Thanks.

I have been to dinner at the Crescent Beach Club. First time I went there it was unbelievable! 2nd time, it was just good. . maybe it was just what I had.
I am voting for Villa Lombardi's for 2 reasons #1 My reception is there #2 There food is just very very good. They give you an unbelievable amount of choices, that you don't even need to add anything extra. We added vienesse and everyone keeps telling us that we don't need it. (I just really want it ) --Kelly

Believe it or not, the Smithtown Landing Club has an awesome chef. I had them cater my hs grad party and had my college grad party there. The hors d' vouers (didn't spell that right) are out of this world and food is always great.

Yup. I'm also voting for Villa's (even though some might think I'm biased). The food really was outstanding. My parents, in-laws and grandma were getting calls up to a month after our wedding from people STILL raving about the food.

My vote is for Villa but after my tasting in June, I am sure I will say Flowerfield is my number 1

Re: Best Menu Around
Crescent Beach Club was a huge disappointment for me. I expected it to be better - their cakes are really pretty bad (they freeze them so they are really soggywhen they defrost)
My parents who are SUPER picky and go to a ton of wedding say that Villa Lombardi has realyl good food. I didn't look at it for my wedding because we are having it at my parent's country club. I have heard other people rave about it too.

John Anthony's ... and not because that's where our reception was .. but because everything was exceptional .. and plentiful.

I agree with you about wedding food. I think most are about how to mass produce a lot of Italian dishes, which seem to be the cuisine of choice. That, and quantity matters to a lot of people. JMO.

Definetly Chateau La Mer... and they're so much food!
I also liked Villa Lombardis and Chateau Briand... nothing else can even really compare!
