Best place for cheap hotel room?

I have a wedding to go to in Philly Columbus Day weekend. A few weeks ago I saw an AMAZING deal on hotwire. Of course it's gone now. What site do you think is the best for getting really cheap hotel rates? At least 3 star please!

Definitely try Cheap Tickets--that's where I've always found the best rates.

try the Wingate Inn.....we have stayed there in several states and been VERY pleased with the oversized rooms and reasonable rates

When si the best time to look? Ahead fo time or at the last minute? I gues slast munute would be bed because its columbus day and people might be vacationing. For my FHs graduation (he went to college in philly)the air conditioning was already turned off in his dorm and we called about 20 hotels and they were ALLLLL full.

AHHH..so expensive. A few weeks ago I actually say a deal onnhotwire for a 4star in the historic district ofr $61. Now I'm going to have to pay 3x that. I should have just ordered it, and not waited for FH
