Best place for dance lessons in Manhattan?

I am looking to sign up for basic ballroom and swing dance lessons. Can anyone recommend good places in Manhattan?

Please post number of classes and price range as well if you know...

Thanks!

The only place that I know of is the learning annex but they only offer it periodically.

Try Sandra Cameron Dance Center- I took lessons there for a year- if you do a google search you'll find their website.

Dansport- until a few weeks ago. Rena, the wedding coordinator over there just left. She is still doing private lessons in NYC. FM me if you want her info. I hear she is fantastic! My friends's hsuband was even raving about her.

Re: Best place for dance lessons in Manhattan?

We took lessons at Dance New York and did a combination of group lessons and private. We found them to be the most reasonable for our needs.

We took advantage of several introductory lessons (some were free and some you'd pay a nominal fee) from different dance studios before deciding on Dance New York. This gives you some private lessons for cheap! Then once we decided to go with Dance New York, then we started with the group lessons and then towards the end we used the private lessons to choreograph a dance to our music. We would also go to dance parties held by the studios so that we could practice what we learned.

sounds like a good plan...

the band we booked plays at dance parties from time to time and i noticed if you get there before a certain hour the studios give freebe lessions and then you can practice the rest of the night for like $15. and we are going to need LOTS of practice...
