Best Place to Get Wedding Dress

I have to find my dress...I've been so wrapped up in looking for vendors, I haven't even tried on a single wedding dress! Can you ladies suggest where I should start? Any good website? I'm looking for a classic yet modern dress (no ruffles, not much tulle, no sequins, etc.) I'm particulary interested in off-the-shoulder dresses. Any suggestions would be much appreciated! You gals

first you should try looking at the gowns section in www.theknot.com or wedding channnel. this way you can probably have a more detailed idea of what you like.
You can try www.houseofbrides.com if you want instant quotes. Good luck.

Thanks...I'll check out houseofbrides.com. It sux that most of these websites are kinda slow. Not the 2 that you've mentioned but most of the sites I've encountered. I have Optimum Online and there's still lots of lag time sometimes Thanks again.

Just go to the Bridal Suite of Centereach! I can not tell you how much nicer they were than other other place on the phone and in person! Not pushy and they have so many different types of dresses. You dont even have to make appointments for BMs dresses! Good Luck. Its on 25.

hmm The Bridal Suite of Centereach is on Middle Country road in Suffolk County. It is right near the smithhaven mall which is in Lake Grove. I come from the east, but you can take 495 east to exit 62 nicholls road and go north to 25. Then make a left and it will be on your right a bit down the road. Thats the best directions I can give. I heard Bridal Reflections? In Massapequa is great and its much closer to you.

The wedding salon of Manhasset. All of the women were very nice. And they treat you so well. You don't have to worry about anything going wrong with them.

I got mine for $1600 (sample) regular was $2300? But mine is a Justin Alexander with a lot of lace and a ballgown etc..

Wow, $1,600...I bet it's gorgeous. I'm looking to spend under $1,000...maybe $500 or less even :)

What do you plan on doing with your dress after the wedding? That's one of the reasons why I don't want to spend too much. Don't know what I'll do with dress the day after. Maybe I'll plant it in my friend's closet and scare her live-in boyfriend? :lol

i went to bridal reflections in Carle Place you never know how a place is until your fittings. So I don't really have an opinion yet except that they were nice to me while i tried on and ordered my dress.

I wanted to spend under $1500. I found a lot of dresses around $800 at the Bridal Suite of Patchogue, but they just didnt WOW me!! YKWIM.. THe only thing I was willing to spend more $$ on was the dress. I have always dreamed about it and when I saw it hanging I KNEW it was for me.. I tried it on and I was right and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I wish I could wear it everyday!! I guess I will just save it (b/c I know I could NEVER part with it) and maybe one day someone else will want to borrow it... or wear it... who knows...
I just went with whatever WOWED me and that was it :) Heres a pic, but mine is white and SPARKLY!! LOL

I bought mine at Lilletts in Baldwin. I found my gown for over $600.00 less then 2 other places. Pat helped me. The plus about this store is that you can go in on Sunday too.

You can also try some sample sales.

I know the filenes basement one is coming up on March 4th at Union Square. It's pure craziness but you will get to try on all sorts of dresses and the price is around 250- 500 for each dress. I think they have more details on their website. www.filenesbasement.com
