I have to find my dress...I've been so wrapped up in looking for vendors, I haven't even tried on a single wedding dress! Can you ladies suggest where I should start? Any good website? I'm looking for a classic yet modern dress (no ruffles, not much tulle, no sequins, etc.) I'm particulary interested in off-the-shoulder dresses. Any suggestions would be much appreciated! You gals

Re: Best Place to Get Wedding Dress
If you're looking for a place in Jersey, try Bridals by Roma in Clifton. They have a website. Lots of dresses and the fitting rooms are really nice and spacious. And they'll pin the dresses to fit you if they're too big so you can really see what they look like. Their price range seems to start at about $1000, but remember--no tax!
I also went to Heather's in North Bergen. Nice people there. Not a great selection of real silk dresses, but the prices seemed more reasonable, with lots of dress under $1000.

I bought mine at Lilletts in Baldwin. I found my gown for over $600.00 less then 2 other places. Pat helped me. The plus about this store is that you can go in on Sunday too.
I 2nd Lillettes! They are so nice there and have great prices!

Re: Best Place to Get Wedding Dress
I'd check out the Paula Varsalona styles....she has a showroom in NYC. She tends to be in the mid-range budget (they may be more expensive than 1K) but she doesn't use a lot of sequins. Mine was made with off the shoulder straps (it was originally a strapless) and the only detail is done with pearls or non-flashy beading. You can check out her website to see if its worth the trip. www.paulavarsalona.com (I got mine from a store on LI)
