best registry incentive programs?

best registry incentive programs?

I'm registered at Williams Sonoma and BBB and they have really great registry incentives (like free gifts for registering for certain things)

Are there any other stores that offer incentives like this?

I believe Macy's gives you rewards points on your card and they have to compete with BBB's 20% off coupons which your guests can use for your registry. I think they do something similar.

I love BBB because they have everything Macys has and more, now that we don't have Fortunoff. I found Amazon.com's wedding registry for other items so I don't have to register to so many places. If you add the, Add to Registry, bookmark, it will let you add anything from any website and set it up in your Amazon wedding registry so it keeps track of duplications and what was ordered. I ordered my free Amazon registry cards to put in the shower invites. I love Amazon's wedding registry as an extra to BBB so I can add that one thing I love from Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrel, Pier One, Target etc.

BBB and Amazon online wedding registry rules! :)

Macy's also has a charity program going right now where you and your FH pick a charity when you register and Macy's will give 3% of the value of anything purchased from the registry to the charity. Here's the message I have posted to inform my guests about it:

Dear Family and Friends,

At this special time, we are thrilled to include a gift to charity in our celebration. Macy's will make a donation to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute whenever someone purchases a gift from our Macy's registry. There is no additional cost to you or to us - Macy's will make the donations as their gift to us. If you intend to use our Macy's registry, we'd love if you'd help us support our charity by following the link below.

Thanks,

Log into your registry and the on the right side it says 'find out more.' The second box down has a blue ribbon in it, click that box and follow the instructions. And you can change the charity later if you change your mind.

I like MAcy;s

You do get gifts for registering for certain items.

You also get the 3% charity donation

And if you have a Macy's card, after the wedding yo'ull get a gift card back for 10% of anything you purchased on your CC, and 5% of all the registry gifts purchased. I think that's awesome!

Boo... why isn't ASPCA on! I'm already donating to the American Heart Association and American Lung Association as wedding favors.

Bed Bath and Beyond has a great return policy too. You can bring it back even if you've used it! I've heard good things about Macy's too. Macy's seems limited to me as far as house stuff across the board. They are good with kitchen, dining, entertaining the same as BBB but I prefer to have more choices which are more my taste for bedding and bath plus other house stuff as well.

If you're into Macys though, they are good. You can always set up your Amazon.com wedding registry and make sure to add the, Add to registry to your bookmark bar (it's easy, just drag and drop) so you can add other items from ANY website including BBB. You can also get free Amazon cards for your shower invitations along with your Macy's or BBB cards so people have an alternative. I wanted 2 things from Pottery Barn, some things from Target, William Sonoma, Pier One and Crate and Barrel and I can add those items on Amazon's wedding registry without having to register everywhere!

Does Macy's have an option to donate to me and MY wedding? I'm not even working so I feel like a charity case!

kinda!!! fh and i registered at macys and signed up for the 'Regirsty star rewards program'. 5% of every gift purchased off ur registry goes onto a rewards card for u and fh to use after ur wedding. at the same time, if u use ur macys card in the store before ur wedding date on anything, 10% of the purchase also automatically goes onto the rewards card.

u also get 10% off anything remaining on ur registry after ur wedding.

so it's kiiiinda like they're giving a donation to ur wedding fund! lolol hth!!!!

Is the rewards card different from the Macy's credit card? I have a Macy's card but since I am not working, they actually gave me one with a $120 limit which can't buy much so that wouldn't work for me. Do my guests get 20% off the same as using a coupon at BBB?

BTW, I was mentioning registering for ANYTHING on ANY WEBSITE thru Amazon.com's online wedding registry. I just saw that Facebook has the same feature.

the rewards card is like a gift card that u get after ur wedding. and it'll just be racked up with $$ from purchases either from ppl buying gifts off ur registry, or using ur macys card on anything in the store.

i dont think they do a 20% off coupon like BBB but 2x a year they do a friends and family event where ppl get i think 20% off anything off ur registry.

Re: best registry incentive programs?

We chose Bloomingdales over Macys. For us, the customer service at Bloomingdales cannot even be compared to Macys. Your consultant at Bloomingdales will call you when items on your registry go on sale and they also call your contact people, ie my mom and MOH. My mom was able to get my china at a hefty discount (50%) because we knew about a sale!! Also, Bloomies gives you a longer amount of time after your event to complete your registry with the discount, like 9 months, whereas Macy's is 3 months, I believe. At Bloomie's you get 30% off your luggage 2 months before your wedding, if it isn't purchased already, so you can get ready for your hm!

They just blew us away. We never shop at Macys so their incentive wasn't so important to us.

Got tons of free (good quality) stuff just for registering for certain brands at Macys. Plus 10% back after the wedding on all items purchased on my cc and on the registry. It's the best one I found.
