Someone recommended we look in Bethpage but I'm not familiar with it at all. I think I've heard there are nice areas and not so nice areas (as with most towns). What are the nice areas? I know to stay away from the powerlines, but where are they? Thanks!

Hi Trish - my sister has been a teacher at the middle school in Bethpage for about 6 years and absolutely loves it there. She said that the kids are fantastic and the district is great as well. In fact, a lot of her fellow teachers grew up in Bethpage and came back to teach there. It's definitely a really nice community. Good luck!

I've lived one town over from Bethpage for years. Honestly, it is a great place to live. I would try to stay at least 5 blocks from the train station in either direction. Bethpage falls into 2 school districts, there could be more, the ones I know of are Bethpage and Plainedge... both are fantastic districts. Best of luck in your search.

There are areas of Bethpage that are in the Island Trees School District also.

there is power lines on motor lane... fh and i check out a house on foxtons back in may on that street listed for 360... just received an email last week that they dropped the price to 340... i think the power lines might be cancer causing....
also bethpage i think has three schools... bethpage, plainedge, and possible island treeS?

Yes, I think you're right about the school districts. I've heard Bethpage and Island Trees are both good, and Plainedge is good but in financial trouble. Thanks for giving me the location of the power lines.
