beyond stressed

stressed is no longer the appropriate word. i haven't been on here in probably months. i literally havent done a thing for my wedding in about a month and a half. i am so stressed. i know i need to stop and get in gear. i have a florist booked, but i think i am unhappy with 'my' choices. i say 'my' because i went in there with my ideas and my mom and the consultant took over. on my worksheet are things i didn't say, and things i said aren't on there, and i know its because my mom was intervening. i am the bride and this is what i want. i am paying you thousands of dollars for my flowers, do what i say. so i want to make a new appointment to go back and change things but now im second guessing myself and maybe changing things. i cant find pictures of what i want and im freaking out. i dont want to make an appt without having examples of exactly what i want. then i need to make appts for hair/makeup people and im getting stressed about that too because before i do the trials i need to have an idea of what i want and i dont have any ideas yet! i dont have the time to do all the research i need to do. i work the overnight shift so all my days off are spent sleeping. i am just so stressed and overwhelmed. FH is trying to help more now because i bugged out the other day about how close the wedding is and how i feel like we have SO much to do. but i am just SO beyond stressed that it makes me not want to do anything! is this normal?!

Re: beyond stressed

Just take a deep breath and then take things one at a time. Remember that it's not about the party, it's about the marriage and everything will work out beautifully.

What is the most important next step you need to conquer? Figure that out, then take care of it. Then move on to the next thing.

Take a deep breath. And maybe even take a day to yourself... no wedding stuff, no mom, nothing that brings you stress. Remind yourself of what really makes you happy.

Then get back into it by making yourself lists. Determine what the next important thing is to conquer, conquer it and then move forward. Take it day by day. You have plenty of time!!

As far as flowers, spend some time looking around the web, in books and maybe even at other florists. When you go to the florist next, do NOT bring mom. She already had her say its your turn.

Keep breathing, like kittkatt said its more about the marriage than anything else. Don't worry.

Same thing happened to me...i took 2 months off and kinda lost interest. I ended up getting my cake topper in the mail and it brought me back to my planning. I think its happens to all of us.

You poor thing stopp right now! You have plenty of time still! I justtt booked hair and makeup so no worries. as long as you have your florist booked you can change your mind as many times as YOU want. If you try and do too many things like many of us has You will freak out/stress/over drink/eat/get wrinkles/screw up your sex drive. lol Did I miss any? Thats all what happened to me. write a list. Pick like one thing a week or every other week to do. where are your bridesmaids? Have them help with research and send the top picks to you. Print out/clip/save anyyhing thats cought ur eye and you'll soon see a theme. What things do you need to book? We can all give you tons of names! We allllll have been in ur shoes. F*ck stress and start enjoying it This is YOUR time to shine babe. You got this!!

You still have plenty of time. I think you need to sort out what you want for your wedding and go to these appointments alone. Don't worry about looking for pictures. You should be able to verbally express your ideas and then the vendors can take it from there. They have plenty of experience and might even have pics of their work that could help you out. Do one thing at a time and relax. We are all here to help you.

Re: beyond stressed

You have time, even though you feel like you don't, you do. I just finished booking all my vendors yesterday. I think you should just prioritize and list what you want to get done first. If its flowers, then work on that. And like the other girls said, you can change your florist contract as many times as you want up until the florist orders the flowers. If you need help with flowers, post on here. We're all here to help.

Re: beyond stressed

Try to calm down. I was in the same boat!! I was unsure of my choices with the florists and felt rushed (my fault). My florist said nothing is set in stone until you meet to finalize & they place the order. I could not find any pictures of my vision and boom I came across it today!! Keep faith and continue searching the web. You will find it.

I can recommend a hair & makeup person. I will send you FM.

Deep breaths!! :)

I feel the same way!!! Relax everything will get done. Make a list and put it in the order that they need to be done in. Maybe include fh and try and make things fun again. You have to remember this is your wedding. So if you don't like the flowers change them!!!!Maybe fh or a good girlfriend can help filter your mom and or help you make decisions.
