My fh is moving in on July 1st !! Yay! I'm sooo excited.
I'm wondering what was the bggest adjustment you had to make when you and fh moved in together?
And what's the best part about living together?
I'm so excited about getting rid of our gardener. (FH says he'll mow the 1 acre yard!!!) Savings$$$:)
And I'm super excited about him cooking and having someone help me clean the house. It's a lonely job to do by yourself. :)

Re: Biggest adjustment when living together?
Well, we adjusted pretty easy. It's fun!!
Although... he does toss his socks across the room before bed and they rarely make it in the hamper. He leaves the toilet seat up (totally expected) and when I go to the bathroom in the middle of the night when I have no contacts in I have almost fell in... and he has laughed out loud at me.
But when we get into bed and he puts his arm around me I forget about everything and fall asleep in seconds. It's the best.

Re: Biggest adjustment when living together?
To be honest, I dont think there was any big adjustment. It felt very natural when we moved in together and we had no problems whatsoever. The best part tho has definately been eating dinner in our kitchen every night and getting to snuggle up in our bed at night.

Re: Biggest adjustment when living together?
Well it was a bit of an adjustment for me. I grew up with my own room, and only shared my space once in college with my roommate so having someone else there 24/7 was definitely a challenge at first. It was also hard because he is a total slob and expects me to pick up after him, which he quickly found out is a great way to piss me off. But you just get used to all the little quirks, and they even become endearing after a while. Boys will always be boys, we just have to remember that. No one is perfect, and there are bound to be things that we do that piss FH off too. But I really do love living with FH. Its so nice to come home from a long day at work and have someone waiting there with open arms for you and a huge hug. And occasionally flowers and some wine too

Re: Biggest adjustment when living together?
It wasn't too big of an adjustment for us either. I think the biggest issue to handle right off of the bat is your finances. We didn't have arguments about it but it can get kind of confusing and the intermingling of money and all of that. We just said 'okay, I'll pay this, you pay that.' Other than that, I hate leaving dishes in the sink and he does that all the time which makes me nuts. LOL
The best part, IMO, is waking up together every day. Love it.

Re: Biggest adjustment when living together?
Our biggest adjustment was getting use to the other one being around so much. lol I think that had less to do with moving in together and more to do with the fact that he had recently just returned from a year in Iraq. He is messy and I spend a good amount of time cleaning up after him but knowing he is coming home to me and this is our home makes it all so worth it.

)Creating time apart from one another...Knowing it's okay to do things alone once in a while.
Other than that, it is great! (I agree about the snuggling part

Re: Biggest adjustment when living together?
There was really no big adjustment at all when we moved in together. That probably had something to do with the fact that we moved in together once we graduated college. The only real big thing that we have is I won't cook unless there is clean dishes. He does all the dishes which is great but I help every once in a while just like he cooks every once in a while.

We are the odd couple. I'm overly neat and he's a slob!! But that is the only problem and we are working on it. Everything else is smooth sailing.

I'm sooooo excited. I think that our issue will be spending too much time togther --I think we will have to work at not isolating our friends. We adore being around each other and with our busy schedules I think we will spend every free second together. so pumped.

Re: Biggest adjustment when living together?
For me, it was that I like coming home from work and having a few minutes of quiet/alone time, FH always gets home first, so that was a little hard for me to get used to, but luckily FH is the neatest person on earth, so we havent had any of those issues.

There wasn't much of a change really. He does annoying things like leaving the cabinet doors open or not putting the bathroom hand towel neatly back on the rack. Other than that its been very easy.

Re: Biggest adjustment when living together?
We adjusted really easily too. Living w/ my best friend, doesnt get much better than that! I was so tired of living alone and being apart (we were long distance for a while) so it was a really really nice change to have him there to spend lotsa quality time and run out together and do stuff and to come home to eachother, esp fall asleep and wake up w/ eachother!
Only thing to adjust to was that I was so used to having a ton of space and privacy.

Re: Biggest adjustment when living together?
I think he had a harder time than I did. I had been out on my own before and lived with roommates and he had always been at home. It was really just the normal stuff...finances,toilet seat, dirty clothes not making it into the hamper, etc. I have a small issue with getting absolutely NO alone time. We share a car so I don't even have the car ride home for 5 minutes of silence. I am still having a hard time with that, but.....it is so worth it! I love getting into bed and knowing he is right there beside me!

Re: Biggest adjustment when living together?
The most fun part was waking up to him every morning!!! The not so fun part is twice the cleaning and cooking. I lived alone for a very long time, when something doesn't get done, I know it was me, when he moved in (after the HM period wore off) I started blaming him for things not getting done (knowing darn well I wasn't doing my share either) He was so sweet to grin and bear it And last night I cleaned the whole house!!! Well, most of it anyway. GL, it's as much fun as it is work. Enjoy every second of it!!

Re: Biggest adjustment when living together?
we split responsibilities down the middle on day one... we assigned ourselves rooms to clean every week, bills to pay every month, and set ground rules on splitting cooking and dishwashing details....
we also give each other personal space. we go to our seperate computers and I go to you girls while he goes to his computer games
so much fun living together! It's like a friend who doesn't 'go home' at night

Re: Biggest adjustment when living together?
constantly him being there is the biggest adjustment. sometime you just wanna say dammit go away! his stuff being everywhere. the bathroom always a mess. that's pretty much it.
the best part is having a guy always around who can help out. like hanging pictures, putting up shelves. fixing things! not to mention cuddling in bed before going to sleep. stuff like that.
