binders=lame, app=always missing something.....any other ideas?

Okay, so we're out of the age of carrying around a wedding binder that screams neurotic bride right? I should be able to find a decent app on my smartphone right?....(downloads apps that all seem to be missing something)....Okay well maybe I can find an inconspicous journal/organizer for all my wedding ish...I can't be the only one who is looking for one of these.

What is everyone using to keep them organized? I haven't found an app I'm happy with and there is NO WAY I am lugging around a frilly binder! Is is possible to find a sleek simple black notebook for the bride that likes to write things down? Possibly already set up with inserts for vendors and to-do lists?

I started with a binder, but then got myself one of those folders that has the different sections(I keep my paper work, contracts etc for my major vendors in that). Then I have a smaller version similar to what you might keep coupons in(I use that for all my recepts) I keep an excel spreadsheet that my FH set up. When I go out I just bring a one subject notebook the take notes etc. in. This has worked really well for me!

I have one of the huge binders I don't carry it around with me though. It's at home with all my contracts, pictures, and receipts. You can always get a 5 subject notebook, those usually have folders where they are separated.

I have a huge binder also, I dont drag it around with me but it would be hard to use an app since many vendors give you physical receipts and contracts. I can keep track of all of them in my binder.
When I was looking for vendors I just kept a little note book with me.

I have one of those large folders, expandable thing and then 15-20 different folders labeled dividing it into sections. One of my BMs made it for me, been so helpful, she even labeled each section

I have those large binders as well but I don't carry it around wherever I go. I'm only at wedding mode during weekends. I know the knot has an app for the Ipad but for some reason every time I try to use those apps it's never enough. I like to have physical copies of everything LOL.

I have a giant binder. Apps are inconvenient and don't have storage for the hard copies. Like the other girls, I don't carry my binder around I just take a notebook and folder with me.

me too. i used a bright green 1' binder because i had it leftover from an old unit that i no longer use. divided it up for inspiration pics, contracts, receipts, RH info, contact info, etc. I don't take it places but it's helped keep me organized since I know where all my reference info is.

I have one of those things that you'd bring to an interview with; like you open it and on the left side is a big pocket and on the right there is a notepad. I bought cute folders and stuck them in the big pocket and each vendor has a folder with their contracts/info in it. There's also spots for like 5 business cards. I bought it in Barnes & Noble. We got a big wedding planner binder for our e-party from there and I already had one of those so I exchanged it for this. I love that it has the notepad so I can write down things if I think of them :)

I have a binder that I keep at home (purple since that is my color) inside are all of my contracts, emails, etc. I also have a small book, it fits in my pocketbook that I got from Barnes and Nobles. It is called 'The Bride's Handbook' inside it has dividers for all major venues and questions that you should ask. It has pockets too so I keep my dress swatch in there, business cards, etc. This is what I use when I am out and about and transfer it to my binder when I am at home.

I have a big binder that everything will go into after the wedding is over..I was carrying around a little notebook but the folder part ripped apart...so I was in staples and found these mini binders withmini binder accessories to go with it (folders, pockets, dividers, business card holders, notebook paper, etc.) So I bought some of that stuff ..and that's what I carry with me now with contracts, lists, cards, notes a.d everything in it...I carry around big purses so its not a hugedeal for me...but I like having everything on me at all times...I'm kinda nutso with my organization for this wedding..lol..but the binder is really cute. They have a lot of colors and stuff to go in it

There's no need to carry contracts etc around I think. I leave that stuff at home in a canvas bag with folders.

I've found while visiting vendors though, carrying pictures of your venue, church/synagogue-whatever, dress, fiance's outfit, bridesmaids, MOB/MOG, all with fabric samples is EXTREMELY helpful. ALSO pictures of wedding centerpiece ideas, bouquets, etc. has been EXTREMELY helpful too, especially when visiting florists, djs, veil shops, headpiece shops, hairdressers, makeup artits etc.

my 'binder' is extremely thin, holds 8.5x11 sheets/photos, not a ring binder, that's too much bulk, just sheet protectors bound in a flexible cover sort of thing I bought years ago for a project.

I've got nothing but compliments and smiles and thanks from vendors saying its extremely helpful and much easier to view than with iphones etc. The LARGE pictures help out the vendors, they can copy pictures you have easily, you can slip fabric samples in and out easily, and its so quick and easy to flip through when going through ideas.

I think sometimes old ideas aren't so bad, especially with wedding stuff.

Definitely bulky is no good though, in my opinion. My binder is definitely not frilly, its all business. I can't waste time.

I keep all phone numbers and addresses of all vendors, even ones I dont use or haven't picked, in a tiny 3.5 x 5.5 wedding notebook (I got it free at a wedding expo) which I write notes in too. It is invaluable too.

I do what a lot of the other brides do - Bring a small notebook/folder to meet with vendors and keep everything at home. I use one of those bridal planning books, which I got as a gift at my engagement party, to keep my budget and to do list on track, then I have a folder with vendors I signed with and a folder with vendors I did not sign with.

I do have a big binder, but I have also had a lot of luck using the weddingwire website and their mobile app for budget things and checklists. :)

Definitely have a huge accordion style folder at home for all important docs.
I go on all appts with just a folder, then transfer it as I book vendors.
Keep my budget in order on LIW and use excel spreadsheets for guest lists & addresses.
