I just mailed out an application for a replacement birth certificate..does anyone know how long it takes to come in, on average? TIA

I had to get it a few years ago.....I can't remember exactly but I'm pretty sure that they said it was 4-6 weeks. I needed it fast so I had it rushed.....it came in 3 days, but I had to pay extra. If you need it immediately, they'll rush it for you. Otherwise, 6 weeks is probably the longest it would take. (more likely 4)

I'm pretty sure it's 4-6 weeks. That seems to be the standard with any goverment issue document.

I had no idea you can get it mailed. I usually go to Manhattan and get it from them the same day. I work no too far from the building. I need to get another one.
