I am on Loestrin 24 as well. I have not experienced any weight gain...
However, its so good to know that you ladies are experiencing the same thing i am while taking Loestrin 24... i was actually going to visit my doctor this week because i've noticed that i have not had my period in about 4 months! They always used to be really light, and for one day only.... but then eventually just stopped all together... So i was starting to think maybe something was wrong with me!!!...
don't worry. i mean if youre concerned, still talk to your doc bc she/he can reassure you themself. but my doc, when i told her i hadnt gotten my period in 2 mos, said dont expect to get it at all. you may get spotting or a day of a little something, but you may not get it at all. and thats fine. happens to most ppl on loestrin for a while, thats why alot of ppl like it.

Re: birth control
it really depends on the certain person. i have been on a few different ones, none have made me gain weight, others have changed my mood.....you just have to do a trial with all of them

that would have really screwed me up!
its usually best to try something through the adjustment period (unless you have a real bad reaction or something). if i stopped taking it bc of the few slightly crappy side effecs within the first three months, i wouldnt have ever known that it was great after that for me personally.

No, they are completely different. You can insert the ring yourself---IUD you have to have professionally inserted. (that's just one difference).

Re: birth control
I just happened to see this when signing in to check my email.
I'm on loestrin24 and the first month i had pregnancy like symptoms, with back pain and a nauseous feeling, etc. I've been on it since March, and everything is fine now....no side affects...no weight gain. i love knowing exactly when im going to get my period and for how long and that it's a lot shorter than it used to be.
I think my gyn told me its effective after 10 days? and i also told her i was getting married so she said this is a low dose pill.....i freaked myself out though because i went online and did research on it afterwards and so many people posted about their neg side effects, but i didnt experience it.
also, i don't know if you want to start taking something so close to your wedding, because you don't know how your body will react. my gyn told me to take it the following month, the first friday after i got my period, and that helped make sure i wouldn't have my period during my wedding/hm

I haven't gained weight and i 've used orthotricyclin, something like desogen?, and i'm on estrostep now. This is for about 8 years now... I've heard great things about the nuvaring from a friend... the idea freaks out FH so I haven't tried it yet!

I was on Zovia, it made me so naseous the first few months I lost weight from not having an appetite.
I got used to after a while, but never really gained weight.
