I've been on the pill forever and i really want to go off of it.
Anyone doing something other than the pill that they like and would recomend??

you can do the patch, the shots (depo provera, I know I spelled this wrong but that is how it sounds). or the nuva ring there is also really scary other stuff that I won't bother mentioning. I have no personal recommendations on any of them but I took a class on this stuff.

All I've ever used was the pill so I can't really help you but Im interested too in other ways. I think FH is getting annyoed with my 'lack of interest' if you know what I mean.

The pull out method...I refuse to go on the pill for silly reasons ...like messing with the scheme of things....

Yes! I do know what you mean and I have that problem also.
I know there are a hundred different options out there but im wondering if anyone has some personal advice...cause some of the things do sound a little scray. lol

Here are some options other than taking a pill, the patch, vaginal ring, progestin implants, progestin injections, intra-uterine devices, diaphragm or cervical cap, and of course male and female condoms.

Im not scared of prego with FH....I mean right now we are smart about it...and know what we need to have children.. thats why we are waiting or else it would of happened a long time ago.

If you're looking to actually have babies, just be sure to ask your physician how long it'll take after you stop taking it before you can conceive. Some of the methods have quite a long waiting period (months to a year) before you body readjusts and allows you to conceive....

Basically, the shorter acting the birth control, the less time it'll take after you stop taking it to conceive. So, all the condoms and sponges (the blockage devices hehe) , etc., you can start making babies the next day if you want!!! The pills take a few months.
The ones that you need to do every few months or years (like the shots or the intra-uterine devices), those will take a longer time for you to conceive....

is there a particular reason you dont want to take it anymore like side effects? i am especially sensitive to certain combinations of the hormones and had nasty side effects like depression, irritability, weight gain, breast tenderness(owie!), no desire at all to be intimate, very uncomfortable. if you are considering injections, make sure you dont tend to have side effects or they will last a long time. also dont plan on conceiving for a year after you discontinue it, ovulation is stubborn, lol.

For 2 years FH and I used the pull out method....I didn't wan tto go on the pill. One day my mom told me that both of my cousins were 'pull out babies' I got so scared....I was at the doctor that week getting the pill. I take Yasmine, and have never had a problem with it. Very limited side affects.
