I'm having a formal outdoor ceremony in June and I like the idea of black dresses with celery or sage green sashes. I really want my wedding to have an elegant and timeless feel to it so when we show our pictures to our kids they don't say 'what were you thinking'?!?
Do you think the color scheme would be springy and elegant or morbid and drab?
What is your opinion on black dresses for BMs in general?
Has anyone done this scheme before? If so can you post pics?

I think black dresses look gorgeous and very elegant and since you are having green it will make it more lively..i say go for it!!

My cousin had her girls in Eggplant in June- and Bright flowers and it worked well together.
I am wearing a black dress next May- Black goes for any time of year- I personally thing if you pick black- include another bright color also.
I will post pictures of my cousins wedding for you.

Some people have mixed feelings about black bm dresses, but no matter what anyone tells you...just remember there are no rules because it's your wedding!
FH and I are having a black and white (little bit of dark red) for our wedding. I get a lot of people who ask me if I'm going for the 'goth' look and I just shrugged it off. I'm not at all going for a goth look but rather a very simple and elegant look. Just remember that a lot of people are against black for BM's but no matter what anyone says...black is timeless! I think the black w/ green will look amazing and elegant!!! Totally go for it.

My sister's wedding was in April and her BM dresses were black, the BM had a black sash, and I (MOH) had a white sash. I think its very classic and elengant, and the sash would add a pop of color.
I believe black is elegant for any time of the year, day or night as long as you spice it up with some color! In which you are doing, so I think everything is going to look picture perfect

I did!! I got married in april and had another ceremony in June and my colors were black and clover green (also with ivory). The black and green go great together
