Black Tie Welcome?

Black Tie Welcome?

Hi Ladies,

After much debate with my FMIL we decided to add wording about Black Tie optional. What other wording have you seen instead of Black Tie optional? We do not want to write 'preferred' because that is much more strong that 'optional'

Thanks!

IMO, if you're going to make reference to black tie at all, 'black tie welcome' is probably the nicest way to do it.

I also like 'Black Tie Welcome' so people are not forced to rent a tux.

i used 'black tie welcome' b/c i wanted my guests to know that it's formal but they don't have to rent a tux.

This is what we did on our invites. To me, it just sounded 'nicer' than 'optional.'
