Okay I've never done this before so what exactly do I have to do about blocking hotel rooms? Do you have to put down a deposit or anything??? I'm completely stupid about this!!

for most hotels (the chains) you do not need to put down any $$, just sign a contract that allows them to hold a certain 'block' of rooms for a certain rate - usually unitol 30 days before the wedding. THe contract will include details about breakfast, shuttles, etc. THere is usually a person at the hotel who handles group sales - ask to be connected to them when you call. They are happy for the business!
