How far in advance do you think this needs to be done? I am starting to wonder if I dropped the ball on this one!

Re: Blocking rooms at hotels
Don't freak out about it, I'm doing it now too (but for Nassau - hopefully not the same hotels as you, ha ha). Don't feel like you screwed up for not booking things 5 years in advance, there are still openings, just do it soon!

I would booked them asap. Since your wedding is i the summer you need to get on it.
BINGO! I reserved mine a year in advance and I found out 3 days before my wedding that the hotel had 7 wedding parties at their hotel. Thankfully, I got the bridal suite!

Re: Blocking rooms at hotels
we blocked 20 rooms about a year in advance. the hotel (the executive inn in woodbury) doesn't make us put down any $ to hold the rooms.

Re: Blocking rooms at hotels
we did it early almost a year in advance...but there weren't many hotels to choose from near our hall and we were told it would book up quick for a September wedding. so we got in it right away. it really depends on the location and the number of hotels in the area.
