Blums review
In my searches for suitable 'shapewear' and a good bra for the wedding I have tried Macys, Lord and Taylor, Bloomingdales, and herroom.com Nothing I bought was just right, and so I kept looking. Thanks to the ladies on the boards I heard about Blums and Georgettes. I didn't try Georgettes but went to Blums yesterday.
It's a great store for brides - they have special bras, shapewear, stockings, even beautiful lingerie and bathing suits.
I was a bit frustrated with the saleswoman I worked with b/c I had asked for a very specific thing and 3 times she brought me something else. Finally she brought me what I asked for, and it was perfect.
I recommend them anyway because their prices are fair, the staff is very helpful, but you need to keep asking for what you want. I didn't feel pressured to buy anything else, but I walked out with thigh highs, a robe, and a nightgown too.
I think for big-chested girls it's definately worth the trip. They are on East Main in Patchogue.
ETA: They also have a large selection of masectomy and nursing bras, if you know anyone who is looking.
