Re: Blusher

my veil will be 2 tiers.
one tier will be elbow length.
the other tier will be a cathedral length veil that will be detachable and I will remove this part after the ceremony and be left with the elbow length veil for the rest of the day.

Re: Blusher

I don't know yet. I know that my veil is long enough that I can put one tier over my face. I am not getting a separate piece of veiling for the blusher though.

I didn't get mine yet but i plan to go to that place C&H in the city that someone from this board told me about.
I am having mine custom made there.
Since you are getting married the day after me, let me know if you want to go to there together!

Re: Blusher

I am doing similar to jennbaby and I think I am the one who told her about C&H in the city.

I ordered a detachable cathedral length veil and another layer which goes to about my wrists (fingertip was too long and I wanted longer than elbow). I will wear the wrist layer as the blusher (no separate blusher). I think I just got a rolled edge. I am having them sew the wrist layer to the headpiece which I also bought there. It all cost a little less than $300.

I have to go pick it up! I ordered it on Memorial Day...It was suppose to be ready 7/8. I have been busy so I haven't picked it up..plus I have no where to put it (I live with my FI and I don't want him to see it). I have to pick it up on a day I can get it to my mom's or something! I was hoping to do it Friday! I will let you know how it looks!

Re: Blusher

I am using a cathedral length veil for church and after the first dance I will be taking the cathedral veil off and using a 1 tier elbow length for the reception. Both veils will have scattered crystals on them and both will be on separate combs. I will not be using a blusher.

Re: Blusher

Jennbaby: totally! as soon as I get a moment we should go. I want rolled edge with accented rhinestones and/or crystals to match my dress (I was gonna bring my shawl with me that has the beadwork on it and see if they can do it)

Can you just flip the shorter one over your face on most of these or do you need a blusher? I'd rather not be bothered with 3 veils. less is more haha

Can you get a detachable cathedral length with a tiered elbow/wrist/fingertip or do they only come one tier so that when you flip over the shorter veil you are only left with the cathedral, I cant picture it, I really have to go try on

where did you guys try on to make a decision?

Re: Blusher

Actually I think my wrist length is 2 tier and then I have the cathedral .. so I would only flip one layer as the blusher. I have to go pick it up.

When I went to C&H in NYC to try on veils, I brought pictures of the dress, a piece of material from my dress and pictures of me in the dress and picturse from magazines of veils I liked. I sat in the small store for over an hour with the lady trying on many different headpieces and veils to find the look I liked. The woman (who speaks very little english) was so helpful. She actually told you when she didn't like something and she recommended what she thought would go with my dress. I appreciated that because all I knew when I went in there was I wanted a long veil!

Good Luck.

Re: Blusher

Jennbaby - I had the same type of veil. It worked out great. At the last minute I decided I didnt want to use the blusher. I didnt like the way it felt over my face.

Re: Blusher

Im using a oval cut veil, chapel length. The nature of the shape is just a big piece of fabric draped over my head, so yes, I will have a blusher.

Im going to have my FH (not my father) lift the veil before the kiss.
