blusher or no blusher?

blusher or no blusher?

I have my whole wedding day ensemble ready to go - except for a blusher.

Are you wearing one? Or just a veil in the back? How important is it to have one these days? I could go either way, but am nervous about the old school people having something to say...

I got my dress, veil, headpiece from the Wedding Center in Commack - and they said they just need 6 weeks to order a blusher if I decide I want one. And that time is fast approaching.

So should I just order one through them and just have it if I decide I want it?

So many people are not doing a blusher it's really up to you.. and I don't think anyone would get offended. . and if they did have a moment they will forget it 10 minutes later when they are focused on how HAPPY AND BEAUTIFUL you look.

I would just picture yourself strolling down the aisle and think if which look you want but DONT do it to make anyone else happy! Do you want the revealing your face part?

i didn't use a blusher. i had a 2 tiered veil and put the shorter tier over my face to see how i would like it, but i really didn't want to have that in front of my face. it was annoying and i couldn't see!

i know it's tradition to have your father lift the veil over your head, but it's up to you in the end. plus, it was just my mom walking me down the aisle and i knew she was emotional enough that day without my dad, so i didn't want to give her another job to do!

ps-most wedding's i've been to lately haven't used the blusher!

I didn't have a blusher because I didn't like the way it felt or looked on my face.. plus I wasn't crazy about the historical significance of it either.
Anyway, it was so nice to be able to see people and in a way 'greet' them as I was going down the aisle!

When my sister got married she put part of her veil over her face, she did not need a blusher. I plan on using my mom's veil and there is a part of the veil that comes over your face. My friend is using a blusher.. it is cheap to get. If your veil isn't able to go over your face as well, then maybe consider getting the blusher if that is the look you want. It all depends on what you would like when you're walking down the aisle!

What is the historical significance, sorry if I'm being clueless for not knowing lol?

Re: blusher or no blusher?

I always pictured myself with one, but in the end I decided against it. I wanted to be able to see my face in pictures as I was walking down the aisle. And I wanted people (esp DH) to be able to see me... that was more important to me than the tradition. Actually, in most of the weddings I've been to in the last few years none of the brides have worn a blusher so I wouldn't worry about people having something to say. Even if they do, F 'em! It's your choice!

Yeah, I have to ask my dad if he has a preference. I asked him over the weekend if he has the vision of lifting the veil away from my face... but he just said yes because 'isn't that what you do?'

So I don't know if he has his heart set on it, or he just figured go with the flow...

I am not getting a blusher. I think it's all about personal preference. If you feel like you may regret it down the line or you want that special moment of your father pulling it back and giving you away then you should got for it. Better not to have regrets.

My veil has a blusher.

Im pretty sure I will wear it wown the aisle, then have my dad and mom flip it when I get to the bimah (alter).

I will also wear my veil all night.

Hope this helps.

I have a 2-tier veil so I'll be pulling one of the tiers over my face. I didn't want a veil at all, but its a Jewish tradition that your FH is supposed to veil you right before the ceremony so I had to have one.

I bought one but then we lost it before the ceremony so I never got to wear it. I would have loved to have it for that extra bridal touch but I wasn't heart broken or anything. Go try one on with a veil and see if it feels right.

I think it is a personal preference. I will be wearing one. If you think of it this way weather or not you wear it or not people are always going to have something to say whether good or bad. At times you may even invite people to your wedding who are going to be straight up haters. So I would do whatever you want to do and not worry about anyone else....it's your day
