Although it's a few months away...She may have already had plans depending where she planned on going.. IMO I would have discussed with everyone first to double check that noone had anything major already planned.. Just like in my situation with doing BM things I know my sister with my neice being in dance has plans for the end of May already to being going to jersey & pa.

ugh it definately is!!! there's so much stress that comes with wedding planning!! it took me over a month & a half of trying to schedule an appointment to try on BM dresses (which was only 2girls!!) & had to keep cancelling bc my sister couldn't make it.. & then one time for myself bc of my son being sick & no1 able to watch him..

It doesn't make you a bridezilla asking them what works best for them for their schedule.. It doesnt seem that terrible to have your shower 3months before the wedding. But sometimes some people need to sacrafice things to make it work for everyone. But just because she almost got divorced & doesn't do anything the past year, maybe their trying to work it out? .. But I would definately talk to her about how you are feeling & see if she can change her date to the weekend before or after of your shower?

Okay, I understand being involved and knowing about your shower. Mine isn't a surprise either. But we scheduled mine for two days before the wedding so that everyone could be there. I wouldn't want my shower without my closest friends.

Maybe It's just me but I feel like the shower is a nice party thrown in the brides honor to help the couple get a good start to married life. If you throw your own then its like your asking for presents. But she isn't throwing her own so Nevermind.

I don't think it's tacky that she responded that way, she probably just was a little annoyed because maybe she thought you were going to let her know about it before the date was set. I also don't think you can always plan around everyone's schedule.

So I would respond, I'm sorry that it conflicts with your plans already but I'm hoping you can be there. I understand if you cannot make it.....

she may have had plans, but either way, i got so much slack already for my B-party and all i said was ok to everyone and i guess that made them even more mad because they expected me to put up a fight and i didn't

Re: bm annoyance

ok so yes I would be annoyed...

when my gf had her shower Ii told them what dates worked and what dates didn't. They happened to plan it on a Sunday the week I was leaving for vacay. So I didn't say anything to her about it and I just left the shower a bit early since I was supposed to leave on Friday night. I postponed my vacation for her. As much as I was annoyed I made sure I would be there on her special day—i wanted to be there.

For her bachelorette, her MOH planned it the day another BM had her bday plans. My friend scratched her plans with all of her friends for her bparty and never said a word to her about it. As much as she was annoyed she wanted to be there.

IMO if you are a friend (and a BM) you do what you have to to be there on these special days. She shouldn't have said that to you until she tried to change her plans.

Col—you have a right to be annoyed but I wouldn't let it get to you I would just say to her...sorry that it's planned on your anniversary I didn't realize but I really hope you can make it. Just leave it at that.

and ps when it was her wedding- there was no consulting anyone about dates or anything! and i am not responding in anyway to her- she also included in her email complaining about the bachelorette party and price of brides maid dresses. i just dont care- if i walk around worrying about what everyone else wants for my wedding i will go nuts. its my day with my fh and nothing else really matters to me

I didn't know she was complaining about other things... and yes you have a right to be annoyed if she's been complaining...

Are you going to ask her to step down (seems like too much to handle for her)...
