I feel the same way - no kids - only my 2 first cousins who will both be over 10 at the time.
Just let her know that you're concerned about her and her bf not enjoying themselves with the baby there (because a 1 yr old is a baby - goes beyond the child issue), and that you have the rule of no kids and don't want other people to get upset if they see she was able to bring hers.
It boggles my mind that people pull this @#!$ - it's your wedding, they need to respect your wishes - how difficult is that???!!!

Re: BM drama
thanks girls..she's definitely the type that wants to show off her son...and she's the type that has a negative comment on everything...when i told her one of my other bridesmaid died yesterday from cancer, (i posted a thread on this in the 06 bored 'horrible, horrible news')she said, 'who are you going to replace her with?' i said are you kidding me? then she said that she told me last year to look for an 'alternate' since it looked like my friend 'wouldn't make it'...unbelievable huh? definitely rude and just plain psycho, and if i would've known what kind of person she is, i def wouldn't have asked her to be in my party....and i will stand up to the no kids rule..i just can't see myself allowing babies in the church and she's the type that would let him do anything in the hall since she won't want to watch him all night....so i told her if she has so many opinions on what i should do, then she should plan her own wedding but she said she's living vicariously through all my wedding planning since her 'baby's daddy' does not want to marry her...the drama!

Stand by your decission! I'm having children of all ages at my wedding, because there are so mnay of all diffrent ages, I couldn't have some there and some not. But I would be so upset if one of them threw a trantrum in church, not so worried about the reception. Don't let her get away with it.

Honestly I don't know why people are like this. If you don't want kids you are going to have to lay the law down. She obviously doesn't get it.

If you don't want kids - then you have to stand your ground...
Going back just over 6 years ago - FH and me went to his brother's wedding. They did the 'no kids thing' also. Well someone in her family decided to bring their daughter anyway who was 2 at the time. This caused a major issue for them since my FH family was upset because they didn't bring their kids.
My suggestion is to just get the headache out of the way and explain to her once again that there are 'No Kids'. That's not something you want to deal with on your wedding day!

No kids is no kids!!!!!! Stand up for yourself. She has no right to do that.
I agree! If some exceptions are made other guests with kids will be upset! No kids = no kids -- period. She needs to understand.
