BM dress color Dilemma

Original post by JC297

My colors are pink and green. We've searched high and low for a bridesmaids dress for my MOH and BM,. They both are older and do not want a strapless dress, they want to be able to wear a regular bra with it. We found a dress but the colors it comes in looks horrible on my MOH. I found a bill levkoff dress thats nice but it was too low cut.

Do you think Black is okay for my pink/green theme?

Here is the dress

That dress doesn't come in any other color? Like silver?

It doesnt come in silver, but I think pink and green goes less with silver than it does in black.

believe it or not we've tried all the dresses and none were as flattering as the impressions dress. There was one bill levkoff dress which looked nice its just way too low cut and they showed us what it would look like if they added a modesty piece and it looked stupid.

FH actually remembered when we were watching MFW they had a bride who had black dresses with a hot pink brooch. I think that would work
but does anyone know where I can find a hot pink brooch?

What if instead of adding the modesty piece, you asked them to put a stitch or two in the cleavage area, just to cover it up?

Honestly, I just don't think the black goes. I think it's a little too harsh for such vibrant colors--sorry!

Really? Isn't your invite silver? (That's where I got that from) What colors does it come in?

It's okay. They said the only thing they could do is add a modesty piece. I spoke to two different stores about it. It's a deep plunge.

I thnk I'm just going to do the black and change the brooch on it to pink.

Personally, I think the black is fine. I think it's so classic and chic that it'll go with anything.

But what about this style. Lela Rose and it's black, similar style, but the flower applique has pink accents.

Lela Rose.

You can get brooches (in all colors) at Tri-County for a really good price

I always forget about tri county. Being from Massapequa I was a busy bee girl myself. So I only ventured to tri county as an adult.

Sorry I'm colorblind! Not really- Guess I haven't had enough coffee. I vote black with the bright pink brooch!

oooo oooo what about this

i love this dress. I love it for me actually. I'll have to see if I find it in a store but I have a feeling the pleats in the front might give a materityish look if you have tummy.

helloooooo date twin AND color twin! are u looking for ur girls to wear pink or green? (mine will be wearing green but i havent found a dress yet)

imo i wouldnt go with the black only because pink and green are such happy cheerful colors!!! if u cant choose a pink or green dress and want to bring in another color, maybe try gold?

I'm not a gold person, I dont even where yellow gold jewelry. We can't find another dress either that we love, so now we only have black that looks good on both girls. I don't mind the green that impressions has, it just looks awful on my MOH.

If I was still having an afternoon wedding I would definitely trash the pink and green and change my colors. But since its at night, I'm just goigng to find a pink brooch and then their flowers will be pink.

What about like a champagne color? That might compliment the pink & green nicely.

personally not a fan of champange, gold, tan, taupe colors in general. And a lot of people can't pull of the color.

Thanks for the suggestion tho.

My BMs were all different shapes and sizes. I wanted to find a bra-friendly dress for them, which was much easier said than done! I finally found this one by B2. It looked great on everyone.

I dont think this looks bad. And while I have accents of other things being pink and green, I dont think it will make a difference to even notice.

I just remembered, my channa plaque is black in the background

I'm not a fan of the silver on the plaque, but i had no choice as white was too bold for me.

I think black is fine, and that the pink and green will pop against it making for great pics.
