BM dress color Dilemma

Original post by JC297

My colors are pink and green. We've searched high and low for a bridesmaids dress for my MOH and BM,. They both are older and do not want a strapless dress, they want to be able to wear a regular bra with it. We found a dress but the colors it comes in looks horrible on my MOH. I found a bill levkoff dress thats nice but it was too low cut.

Do you think Black is okay for my pink/green theme?

Here is the dress

I think black is fine, and that the pink and green will pop against it making for great pics.

ITA.... they will just stand out that much more...

i wouldnt do black with pink and green as your colors..... its too drastic and i dont think itll mesh well at all jmo

how about a pale yellow for your MOH? or even a darker pink or green so that itll be a contrast

in the impressions dress (the only one we can find that we really like) black is the only color that goes with my pink and green theme. Yellow is too easter looking for me. They have a few other colors that are nice but do not go with my pink and green theme at all.
Black goes with pink flowers, thats the only thing that the BM and MOH will be carrying.

so i have to laugh at some of the responses on this thread. if you were to open up one a few months ago with the same question regarding the same colors, the Stepford Wives were in full effect b/c they 'love it'!

Jess, considering you are an evening wedding, it's perfect. here's some pics to show you how sick it looks.

However, i did see one with brown and i really liked that one too. Is the black to harsh? absolutely not...again you're an evening wedding. Do I like the brown? it might be more springy/summery if that's the look you're going for and it is softer. No one will look bad in either color.

Good luck!

sure, black is fine. they can carry pink and green flowers to carry the color theme of the wedding.

Why not consider finding a strapless dress and ordering extra fabric to put on thick ruched straps (sort of like little cap sleeves but thinner), that they can wear regular bras under? With such great light colors, I think the black will look out of place and break up the uniformity. Or maybe consider Alfred Angelo's separates collection? Lots of short-sleeved options on there.

What about brown with pink or green accents? Maybe a little softer than the black? I may be way off...and maybe that's why I'm still struggling with my colors.

Black goes with anything. That's a really pretty dress. I think pink and green would be fine with the black BM dress. They can have beautiful shades of pink BOKs.

My girls are wearing black. I'm still debating on colors (probably purple), but the great thing with black BM dresses, is you can USE ANY COLOR!!!
I say go for it. :)

Im so confused to how pink and green don't go with black?? All these pictures with black dresses and pink flowers look BEAUTIFUL IMO. It makes the colors/flowers pop. I don't get it.

I think the black with the pink will look sharp! I like black and pink together - black always finds a way to make colors POP! And the green in there just adds another dimension! I think it will look fine! Good luck!
