My question is: How much are your BM dresses costing your girls and how much are the alterations? (post pics if possible)
I'm looking at a dress that is approx. $180 with $55 alterations and I'm wondering if I'm asking too much from my girls. Between the dress, hair, makeup, shoes, and a present, weddings are such a financial burden for BMs!! But in truth I'm not sure I'm going to find any dresses that are all that much cheaper. Just curious what others are spending. Thanks!

I'm torn between 2 dresses, they both vary from $119 to $190 depending on the store (isn't that crazy for the same dress!) SO I told my girls to order it from the place that's cheaper, I think $190 is ridiculous for a dress you're probably only gonna wear once. (In my case the dress is black so it will probably get used again, but still $190 is too much in my opinion) As far as alterations every place is diff. also. I think RK wants $60 for alterations. I paid about $40 at the local tailor by me. Being a BM is expensive so I will try to keep the cost as low as I can for the girls! XOXOXOXO Kitty

i wish i could find a dress that cost under 200!!! We went to Bridal reflections in carle place last night and the BM dresses are 250, $55 or $65 alterations... and JR BM dreses were 230!!!! W T F?!?!?! Is it just bridal reflections thats suuuuper expensive? It seemed as though 200 was the minimum!!

mine are 175.50 and the dresses are pretty much to regular size. If the girls need alterations they can go to whoeve they want.

If you have a particular dress you really like, find the style number and go to netbride.com, RK Bridal or gownfind.com. A lot of girls on these boards have recommended them. Bridal Reflections is crazy expensive!

My BM Dresses are 150.00, and they can get alterations where they want.

i think the dress that i really like is $234 I am going to make every effort to find a cheaper price though! and they can use any shoe, and get their alterations where ever they want...

My BM dresses originally cost $260 but I was able to get them for $221. I still think $221 is a lot of money but all my girls loved the dress and said they didn't mind.

My BM dresses from RK are Impressions Separates. The skirt is 110. and the tops they chose range from 82.00-96.00 Alterations are capped at 65.00

bridal party dresses are $170. they will get alterations done at their choice...

$162? th'ats great! Where did you go, I took one of my girls to Renata's in lindenhurst and she fell in love wit this dress - it was $195! w/ a $55 estimate on alterations for it.

My girls are paying $110, and the alterations are $45. My BM's are very happy that I was able to find the dress cheaper than the original $199 we were quoted for it.

my dress cost an avg of 170-190 in a bridal store... through gownfind aka phyllis they were 114 ea... and she keeps alteration costs low as well im not sure exact number

how does it work exactly with phyllis? do you go online and order and then go to the store for alterations? i am confused bc everyone always says shes online and at the store. do you get the discounted dress price at the store??

I used gownsales.com and the dresses were $105 for Bill Levkoff #222. The girls are going to get their alterations wherever they want so that cost will vary.

yes, the store and the online site are basically the same company, she just advertises as 2 different things. The name of the site is just different from the store name.
