BM Dress Dilemma

Here is the latest chapter in my neverending BM dress saga...

So, I finally got in touch with Phyllis from Bridal Elegance who told me that the BM Dress I want (Dessy #2060) is an older style. It is definitely still available, but she sounded skeptical about me waiting to order it (meanwhile my wedding is a year away!). She said it would not be abnormal for me to come in around September to order it and said that right now she has April 2008 brides who have already ordered their dresses.

Do you think I should be worrysome about ordering the dress so early (maybe September or October)?

Also, at Macy's the dress was $245 and Phyllis said she could get it for me at $189, but with a $75 cap on alterations. Do you think I could get it for less anywhere else?

ETA: Not RK Bridal - somewhere on LI.

My original thought is she's making you panic because she wants you to order. Maybe try calling another place and see what they say about that specific dress??

I don't know what is too early really - but i know my BP didn't want to order early - as their weight fluctuates...they literally waited until the last possible second & we ordered last week.

Since styles get discontinued all the time this might be why she's telling you to order now if it's an older style but make sure this is the dress you are going to want in a year. I myself have gone through 5 dresses that I just had to have as well as changing the color

Dresses do get discontinued.

I would question that cap though - mine is only $55 at the same shop.

She said they just raised it. Also, when I called back about the cap quesiton, it wasn't Phyllis, it was someone else.
