BM DRESSES DON'T FIT

15 days to my wedding & my BM dresses JUST came in and guess what... NO ONE'S dress fits. NOT ONE. And the fabric is CHEAPER than the sample. How is this possible?????

No, they didn't gain weight & yes, they all got measured and their dresses were ordered according to the Alvina Valenta size chart!!!

WHAT DO I DO???????????

You really only have 1 option....Go out with all of them and get an off the rack dress.....

On No!!!!! Where did you order them from? Can they help you out at all?

The dresses are by Alvina Valenta and 1/2 were ordered from Bridal Suite of Bay Shore & the other 1/2 from a place up here in Rhode Island. it MUST be the cut of the dress b/c NO ONE'S dress fits. All of them are too tight. some don't zip at all.

As it is, the designer was 1 month late in getting us the dresses. All the girl's dresses were Fed Ex'ed to them and they all got them today & my phone keeps ringing!

I doubt there's enough time for the designer to send you new dresses. I would DEMAND all your money back (obviously it's their mistake since NONE of the dresses fit and they were measured for them!!!).

But you really need to head out to Macy's, Saks, Bloomies, Lord & Taylor, Nordstrom, David's Bridal, etc. and buy off the rack dresses.

SO SORRY YOU ARE GOING THROUGH THIS!

But everything happens for a reason, so hopefully you will find GORGEOUS dresses for a great price AND will get all your money back from the original dresses.

Can you post pics of them so that we can try to help you find another option?

OH MY GOD! that is horrible! Well, is it possible that they can do a Super Rush Exchange of the dresses and get bigger sizes? or if the dresses are zippered in the back, I have seen dresses that are converted to a corset back with a added piece of fabric to cover the skin that would show between the laces, I actually did that myself for my engagement party dress, as it was too small for my bust, so my seamstrist placed small loops along the zipper line and then added the lace and the backing material between the lace and my skin. If worse comes to worst, I would get a refund, and do some off the rack shopping as suggested above... I hope it all works out for you! You do have some time! hang in there

Mimi, this is actually a great idea!!! I suggested this to my cousin with her wedding dress when it came in and was too small. It was a perfect solution for her and not too expensive.

Obviously not every dress would look great with a corset back, but this could be a quick and 'easy' solution to your big problem.

I think this corset thing may work. You ROCK! (But I am still going to yell at people tomorrow when the stores open)

Here's the pic ... I agree, the corset idea might be a good one!!

The corset back would DEFINITELY work with that dress!!!

The ***only*** issue is if the dresses currently fit the ladies too snugly in their hip area, the corset doesn't help that area at all.

So I hope they're too snug only in the bodice!!! DEFINITELY still yell at them at the stores tomorrow!!! See if you can get at least SOME if not all your money back.
