BM is prego

Re: BM is prego

Does this person mean alot to you? You post comes across kind of selfish because your first concern is that how your pictures will come out and you are already it doesn't bother you if she opt out. There are many maternity BM that are very lovely. Having someone pregrant in you party will not make your pictures look bad. It all depends how the person carries themselves and feels. Now if your friend has a complications while she is pregrant then I woud say she should opt out.

I don't think its too bad to have a preggo BM... I've worked in a bridal salon for over 5 years now and we have A LOT of preggo BM's... they even make maternity dresses now- honestly though, as far as the pics go, if your photographer is a good one, he will know where to position her so that she doesn't even look preggo in your pics (believe me - my cousin was 8 1/2 mo. preggo in my MOH's wedding). GOOD LUCK!

I just found out my MOH, twin sister, is also pregnant. After six years of trying unsuccessfully, invitro worked. It is very new pregnancy and we are all concerned about the outcome. She has had problems in the past. She is due one month after my wedding. I just found out yesterday that she may actually be having more than one child! I am leaving it up to her to decide. There are some really nice maternity lines. Maybe as a baby shower gift you could pay for her BM dress and/or the gift you would have gotten her. If you really want her in it and she can handle it, then the pregnancy shouldn't change your original decision.

I don't think she should be given a deadline date by which she has to decide. My MOH is going to be almost 7 months pregant when i get married and my other BM will be 4 1/2. They're both standing up there with me.
When it comes time for your day, let her decide then, I don't think she should have to decide 3 months before or from now. She might end up having a fabulous pregnancy and feel great. Just have a chair for her if she wants to sit during the ceremony, that's all.

If you are close with the BM it really doesn't matter if she is prego because you only want those that matter to be in the wedding! Are you feeling this way because she may need a different dress than you have picked out???

Just found out one of my BM's (I only have 4), is prego. Her due date is in September and wedding is in August. I am pretty sure she will opt out of the wedding, and it doesn't really bother me to just have 3 BM's. We talked about it and we decided to give it 3 months and then make a decision about her participation in the wedding. I think I will prefer if she opts out. Is that selfish of me? I am worried about the photos and her in case she gets sick or something.

OMG Im in a similar situation but my MOH (my sister is preggo she will be due in october) she wants to back out because she doesnt want to stand up their with a big belly and she thinks she will look ugly in pictures..
BUTT I want her to be their because she is my sister and it will mean the world to me...

similar but different..

Re: BM is prego

why do people automatically assume pregnant BMs will WANT to step down???

you should be happy for her and let her decide what she wants to do. if she decides to stay, will you begrudge her and say your pics will look bad?

i think u came across a little selfish, you're first concern being the pics, but you should let her decide what she wants to do.

Concern for her not feeling well I totally understand but worrying how your pictures will come out because of her, that I don't understand and I think it can be extremely hurtful. I mean she's pregnant, what a blessing and something to celebrate. What is more important- the close relationships, what people mean to each other, having them share in such a special day....or how the people you love look in your wedding pictures. Does it really matter? I dunno. Just don't get that. Sorry.

My sister and the Bride's sister were both 8/mo pregnant in an August wedding and they BOTH participated and looked gorgeous.. It's up to your BM to see how she's feeling.. You should be happy that she is expecting and want her in your wedding no matter what.. but thats just my opinion

Re: BM is prego

My sister-in-law was supposed to be a BM in her brothers November wedding, at 7 1/2 months pregnant. She wanted to opt out but her brother insisted that she not. Wouldn't you know it, she went into early labor and ended up having my niece on her brothers wedding day. Needless to say, she never made it to the wedding.

I think that if a BM will be in her 3rd trimester, she should seriously consider opting out. You never know what can happen.....

I HAVE to get my pics in here...the proofs are in a book format...so I can't scan them.

One of my BMs was 9 mo preg. She gave birth when we went on our HM. She is my DH's brother's wife...there was NO WAY that I wanted her not to be in the party. Poor thing was nervous telling me about it...and had to when I scheduled the fittings.

The dress she got (a maternity dress in the same color/fabric I picked for the other girls) was BEAUTIFUL. Of course she looked preg: but we have this AMAZING picture of all the flowers being held and her preg belly near them.

It's kind of good luck for the future.

Hmmmm.....If she wants to stay in it...let her be in it. Its kind of rude to push her out cuz shes prego...Its not a big deal. Photographers know how to work with it...

Then again she may want to drop out do to being on her feet for a long day..she might just want to relax at your wedding...I would leave it up to her
