BM problem!

I originally told my bridesmaids that I was going to buy their shoes and take care of their jewelry, since I thought the jewelery would be cheap b/c I was going to make it. However, I went to the bead shops in the city yesterday, and the really nice beads were pretty expensive, so now I can't really afford to get their shoes. I don't want to seem like an a**hole telling them that I am not doing this now, but I just can't do it. What would you all do?

maybe you can just tell them they can wear whatever shoes they have? (assuming it's a long dress).

If not, maybe you can tell them the truth that the jewelry was more $$ than you originally thought, and would they mind paying for their shoes themselves - or maybe even going half with you?

UM...just explain it to them. They should understand....were you counting this as their 'gift'? If not, now might be a good time to do so...instead of a gift, give them the jewelry and that might allow you to offset the cost of the shoes at least mentally. HTH.
