Re: BM question
I would have paid for them to get it done if I asked them to do it, but my friend (who's my stylist) opted to do our hair as a gift, and I didn't ask them to get makeup done (I did mine myself).
IMO I think if you ask them to do it you might want to pay for it as it's an unnecessary expense in many people's minds.
But, I'm prob. a rare breed. I let the girls pick out and buy their own shoes-all different to reflect their styles, I paid for their dresses as their gift, and I let them wear their own jewelry and decide how they wanted their hair done. I guess not that many brides are as laid back as that.

Re: BM question
I am going to pay to have their hair done, but not makeup - unfortuantely I can't afford that and one of my friends is a hair stylist and great with makeup so I'm sure she can touch up eyes shadows and lips if anyone wants it.
I am however paying for my MIL's hair and makeup as well as my grandmothers. I'm having someone go their homes - same person to do hair and makeup.

Re: BM question
I am going to have the girls pay for thier own hair and makeup. I think everyone will get their hair done but if they want to d otheir own makeup that is up to them. I am fine with that.

Re: BM question
I'm not a 'done-up' kind of person...and neither are any of my BMs - so however they want to wear their hair, they will. Same for makeup. They're all beautiful women so I'm not concerned...nor do I like the 'conformed' look of everyone wearing their hair the same way.
But secretly, I hope they all wear their hair down - I'm really not a fan of up-do's...

Re: BM question
I paid for their hair but not makeup. One of my BMs did her own makeup, but she practiced it for about 2 months before the wedding. Everyone else, including my mother, had theirs professionally done. The BMs wore their hair in a style that they found comfortable. My MOH had hers half up/half down and the others had theirs in an updo. I also let them choose their shoes - I only requested that they be black. The black shoes went with their dress very well and I hope they can wear them again.
