HI Ladies,
I've been on the board for over a year now and haven't posted anything negative, but I am SO ANGRY at 2 of my bridesmaids. First of all, since I've been engaged, they haven't been interested in the wedding process at all. They haven't asked to see anything I've picked out or asked how things are going. My mom just informed me today that they didn't even respond to the bridal shower invite! Isn't that rude? When they got married, I was the first to run around with them and get everything set for their shower. I feel so upset, especially since my wedding is two months away. A word of advice to those just getting engaged-hold off a bit until you are TRULY sure who you would like to be in your bridal party. I asked them the week after I got engaged and would not have asked them if I waited a bit longer.
(my other BM and Maid of Honor have been helpful)
Anyone else feel this way??????/
Thanks for listening!

BM venting (LONG)
I TOTALY UNDERSTAND.. i was engaged to be married in 2000.. All my BM and MOH fought all the time.. my MOH was a nightmare, HAD TO HAVE a different dress, even thought i didnt want her to look that different, but she got it,, then when it came in she didnt like the color so she screams EWWWWWW this is discusting,..in front of the whole bridal store..it was HORRIBLE it got so bad i was ALWAYS fighting with my FH, we were so stressed out he got crazy and we canceled the wedding.. Now its a year later and we are trying it again.. this time i choose my BF to be the MOH.. she seems totaly uninterested and i am doing everything by myself..its not as much fun but this time at least, i know i wont get stressed.. Make sure you dont let them get you down.. If i had the chance to do it again i would have recinded the offers on the spot.. no BM or MOH should ever make you cancel your wedding or get you stressed..

Thanks for sharing and understanding-I guess you are right--I shouldn't let it bother me as much as it is, but I'm really upset at this point.

Your welcome.. You really see peoples true colors when your wedding comes around, when i had my shower, I knew EVERYTHING that was going on, from the bridemaids meetings, to the gifts, to who didnt want to pay for what.. i COULD NOT believe these girls were even telling me this stuff!! You will have a beautiful wedding and its only 2 short months away.. Try to be happy and not get upset, time flies and before you know it youll be married for 50 years!!!!

BMs
besides my sister (MOH), not many of my BMs are doing much...b/c of distance or not married and don't know what has to be done...
it doesn't bother me...

BMs
I opened my mouth and asked a HS friend to be a BM even though I was iffy about her from the beginning. I actually mentioned my dilemma on this board a while back. Well no help from her yet...Everyone else is ready and willing which makes me think I shouldn't have asked the problem to be BM at all. I haven't even fully begun planning yet and the others are asking me if I need help. It definitely puts your friendships in perspective when you need your friends the most.

BM venting (LONG)
My MOH is my sister in law and she lives in Fla. The past couple of days I have been real down over her disinterest in my plans. My mom has been doing alot. Thank goodness my bridesmaids are finally helping. I know how dissapointed you feel.

I know how you all feel...My BMs have been great but my sister is my MOH and she could not be less interested in my wedding. Everytime I see her she has only negative things to say about the wedding plans. She hated every BM dress I liked - She wanted something skimpy but I wanted to make all my BMs feel comfortable - They aren't all 90 pounds! She is being really snotty to my fiance's mom and sister who are trying to help plan the shower. She almost didn't come to my engagement party because she wanted to go to Bush Gardens!! She ended up showing up but didn't even get me a card (let alone a gift). She's also already warned me that she isn't spending any money on the shower - She hates them. My mom has been jumping on the negativity bandwagon along with her. I just try to spend time with and focus on all the people who are happy for me and excited about the wedding. Hang in there...Try not to let their bad attitudes get you down -

I had a problem with one of my bridemaids...But i went in with the attitude...It is my wedding and this is what you will be wearing and this is the color. All my SIL wanted was to wear a dark color...(I took her seperatly to look at dresses) and I finally told her that the light color was the one that you were wearing....they finally all decided and one of my BM has worn the dress more that once to another affair....
So always remember that it is you day.....

As a Bride to be you expect.........
People literally going out of their way to help you in any way they can, because that's how we all were when our loved one's were ready to tie the knot. People are so selfish and I truly believe now after being married that there are few people out there that want to see a 'happy couple'. I waited a few months before I chose my bridal party and I'm glad I did because the girls that I hung out with all the time showed no interest, guess what? I didn't pick them and it worked out fine.
