Re: Bond Question
I just ordered one for someone as a baby gift.. and when you get it at the bank, they give you a gift cert that you can send. So, whoever got you the bond should have gotten that gift cert-- then never sent it.
Ordering bonds is a royal pain in the arse.. You need to give social security #, like two addresses, phone #'s, ID, etc. I bet if you call the bank that it was issued by they would be able to tell you.

Re: Bond Question
I think that a bond comes with something to give the person you are giving it to and the actual bond comes in the mail. Whoever got it for you probably bought it early, so you got the bond before their card.. look out for it at the wedding!

Re: Bond Question
Usually you get a note saying a bond is going to be sent about a week before. Check - maybe it is stuck in a magazine. Otherwise, maybe the bank can look it up??

Re: Bond Question
Does it have your social security number on it? If not then it must have theirs... that might be a clue??
Q. Can I buy a Patriot Bond as a gift? A. Yes. Like all savings bonds, every Patriot Bond has to bear a Social Security Number (SSN) for record-keeping purposes but if you don't know the SSN of the person you're buying the bond for, you can use your own. If you want to deliver a gift bond in person or mail it with a personal message, you should have the bond mailed to yourself.
Hmm.. that's odd. I don't know. Maybe keep an eye out in your wedding cards like Julz said. Maybe the bond came early? Sorry I don't know. I would still go to your local bank or at least call and see if they can look anything up with the serial number??i
