my best friend is in the army reserves, she is obviously one of my bridesmaids (more like MOH with out the title, to avoid drama with family) well she just found out she will be deploying in February 2014...Now I don't know what to do, do I change my wedding date to some time this year ( My fiance is anti winter wedding ) or get married without my best friend :(

That's a tough one. I don't have an answer for you. I feel like moving things to 2013 will be hard. Almost every where I looked only had 2013 winter availability. Good luck!

oh I'm so sorry that you're going through this! It's such a personal decision so I won't try to sway you either way, I honestly don't even know what I would do. I'm sorry again

Ugh. That sucks. I'm so sorry! I wouldn't even be able to make that decision. I saw on 4 weddings once that the bridal party organized a video of the brides brother as a surprise for her and her husband. It was super sweet.

I'm sure whatever you decide your best friend will support you and do whatever she can do for you <3

Oh no!! I'm so sorry! I know your FH is anti-winter, but if he knows how much it means for you to have her there with you, is he willing to compromise? It will likely end up saving you some money as well seeing as places that aren't booked yet for winter may offer you a bigger discount, and that time of year is already significantly cheaper.

So tough!! Maybe look around ask your venue and vendors if they have 2013 availability? You might get a discount if you make it late October/early November since its short notice and they are looking to fill dates and then it's not winter and you still have 8/9 months. That's plenty of time to plan its just the finances that might be hard. Good luck!

I think this is great advice! When I originally moved my wedding from May 2013, my vendors were very helpful. Things like this happen more than you think. Good luck!

if you can choose a new date and not upset anyone, and keep your vendors without causing yourself stress and of course if you don't mind then do it but if it's going to be drama or a freak-out show then save yourself the pain :-/

I agree with the other girls-if you can see what availability your vendors have this year then try to move it up! If not, you can always try to set up a Skype situation.. It would make for great stories, the whole 'remember when you meant so much to me that i skyped my wedding to you' thing with your friend

FH is in the military and we just found out his deployment schedule for 2014 and he might be home for our booked date but there's a chance he might not be, I know what you're going through! 2013 will be tough to get a date but you might be able to. Call around and see what dates are open, if you can pull it off I would!

BOO!

Does your best friend know how long her deployment is suppose to be for?
Instead of thinking about moving the date how about moving it back? This way you can save even more money and can have her there.
Otherwise i agree with skyping her in rather than a winter wedding. If your FH is against a winter edding i wouldnt want to start the marriage off negatively. I say this becuase rarely do men have any input or say in the wedding so when they do they obviously feel strongly about the topic.
Best of Luck.
