booked a new place! former JA bride

Hi All FIRST OF ALL I AM A BOARD ENTHUSIAST! HEHE
my FH and myself have had a very stressful two weeks since this whole JA thing went down. But we decided to book Woodbury Country Club and back out of JA's.
We are extremely happy and I think even though it is not on the water I like it better!

Congrats Dolphin! I actually finally cancelled with JA's too but am still looking for a place. Woodbury CC is one of my options right now... I am sending you an FM.

I am right there with you. My FH and I debated for about two weeks and finally got our refund from JA's. Makes us sad but it's the right thing to do.

My brother's wedding was at Woodbury CC a few years ago - it was beautiful. I think you made a great choice. We are still deciding on a new place - have it narrowed down to two but they are very different. I think it's more difficult now than when we originally looked!

I'm sorry to hear you had troubles with JA's. What happened? I must have missed it (on HM) We just had a wedding at JA's and it couldn't have been more wonderful!!! We loved them as well as all of our guests. I can't tell you how many people have told us (or written us) that it was the absolute BEST wedding they've EVER been to.

Hey Betty-

There is some business situation with JA's. Something about the company that owns the property and building (not actually the JA business) filing Chapter 11 bankruptcy. JA's tells you they have no doubt they will still be in business for your wedding date, but of course can't guarantee. My FH and I decided not to take that chance - it's tough enough finding a new place now - when the wedding is nine months away. We did love the place though - first one we agreed on. I'm glad things worked out well for you, and your review tells us we made a good choice. If it wasn't for that bankruptcy hanging over their head...

I went to a wedding there and I musts ay with the exception of DAWNIE's at Flowerfield, I was the best wedding I have ever attended. The grounds were beautiful, the food was great. You made a good choice...
