We recently decided that we’re going to wait and take our honeymoon a few months after the wedding. We were originally going to stay at home on our wedding night and then leave for the honeymoon a day or two later. Now that our plans have changed, we booked Hotel Indigo in Riverhead for 2 nights after the wedding!

I’ve gotten a lot of good feedback on the hotel and it seems like it will be a great little getaway. They offer winery tours that leave from the hotel so we’re going to take advantage of that. Then we’ll plan our honeymoon for some time in December

We're going to set up private winery tour that includes 2 wineries of our choice plus 1 brewery. The hotel also has a great restaurant & bar on site.

I heard the Indigo is amazing! We have a wedding at Giorgio's in January so we are staying there. I cant wait. What a great idea to do that!

Thanks ladies :) I think we got a pretty reasonable deal considering it is Memorial Day weekend. The staff has been very helpful & we're looking forward to it!

Such a great idea! I'm definitely going to look into something like this! We're getting married in June and I've always wanted to go to Disney on my honeymoon, buy not in the dead of summer so we're waiting until it's all set up for Christmas, but the thought of no honeymoon and just going right back to work seemed so sad! A relaxing weekend at the wineries sounds lovely!

That is a really nice mini-honeymoon. If you get a chance, check out the restaurant Claudio's (food is delish) and try Lieb's Cellar. (Not sure if you are into white wines but they have a white merlot which is sooooooooo good as well as a nice red wine Meritage which is amazing) Enjoy!

I actually have 3 bottles of White Merlot because I like to have a lot of perfect occassions = )

That's exactly what we are planning to do the day after the wedding. I told fh I didn't want to go home the day after the wedding and fall back into the same routine and anxiously waiting for our honeymoon. Where are you staying?
