Ok so I have finally booked my RH and it is at Jericho Terrace the Oak Room!! I am so excited! I couldn't have picked a better place to have my wedding! Anyways so now that I have booked the RH now what am I supposed to be doing?? I am a planner not a procrastinator so I want to make sure whatever I should be thinking about will be done when it should be! Any suggestions??

Re: Booked RH now what do I do?
First off congrats!
Assuming you have already done budget and guestlist, I would start looking at photographers. They book up fast and can only do one wedding at a time (florists can do a couple per day). I also booked my DOCs early, which has been helpful because they have given me vendor suggestions.
Thank you so much! Fortunately with me I get a wedding planner for free with Jericho Terrace which I think is completely awesome! I am wondering if I should wait for her to call me or if I should start looking at photographers now? Also what do you think about using a vendor that is recommended by the RH? Good idea or not a good idea?

I don't know if it matters to me whether they are recommended or or not. Most of the time 'preferred vendor' just means 'vendor who paid to be on this list'.
I don't know how the Jericho Terrace DOC works. Is it the same as bridal attendant? DOCS are different.
I think you should start looking at photographers now, its a lengthy process. A few off the top of my head to check out are: Photo Pink (my photographer), LoveMore, Benchwork, Lighthouse, Thomas Paul, Turn Loose the Art, Sherwood Triart and a million more if you ask the girls for suggestions!

Thank you so much! Which room are you having your reception at? I am having it in the Oak Room!! So excited! Mom is worried the room is too small...I hope it isn't. Anyways, which Photographer did you pick? did you go with any of the house photographers?

I am booked in the same room! Congrats!!! Francesca will call you, but I have not met with her. She is free up until a month before your wedding. Most of the vendors I used were house vendors because they will give you an extra discount and you don't have to pay for their plates. I would look for a photographer (didn't use any of their house vendors for this), videographer and DJ next.

wow, you don't have to pay for their plates. That's nice, why didn't I get that! All I got was list of some of the most expensive vendors on the island.
what did you think of the Oak Room?? how many people did you invite? I am hoping for a max of 125! I will use the house vendors for the DJ/Videography and flowers I might use someone else for the photography but not sure...wanting to go to the showcase on the 20th of September before I make any decisions!

In love with the Oak Room! I actually booked most of my vendors at their showcase. Great time to make plenty of appointments. I will be there.

Re: Booked RH now what do I do?
I'm not a Jericho terrace bride but my sister was and had Francesca as her DOC and she was so amazing my mom decided I needed to have her as well.
I would say start next on photo and maybe dj/band. also if you or your FH have a strong preference on a special kind of limo, you may want to look into that too.
congrats!

Re: Booked RH now what do I do?
I agree with all of the other brides. I would start with the photographer and videographer next. Im currently working on this now after booking my RH. Ive done lots of research. Youn will find lots of recommendations from this site and you can check out LIW vendor list also. Some places you may want to check are: Fade to Black Benchwerk Myther Ganibe (video only) Gina Esposito Thomas Paul Light House North Island Photography Millimeter Ricky Restiano
IMO all of the above have great work. HTH
Btw.. congrats on booking you RH! Another 2013 bride yay!

Re: Booked RH now what do I do?
Congrats!! I'm a Jericho Terrace bride too- booked in the Dome Room. I booked photographer/video next then DJ. I didn't use any of their preferred vendors only because photo/video came highly recommended from a family friend and DJ happens to be FH's friend. Both gave us a great deal so we went with them. If you want to save $ using their house vendors does make their meals free otherwise you have to pay half after your mininum requirement is met. As for the wedding planner JT provides I haven't met with her yet but my understanding is she is free up to a month prior to your wedding but if you like her you can hire her as your DOC.

Re: Booked RH now what do I do?
Congrats! I got married at JT last year and it was wonderful. I couldn't have been more pleased. It definitely doesn't hurt to contact Francesca from Dazzling Affairs. It is, after all, free (up until one month before the wedding) and she gives it to you straight. She was able to offer insight as to which of JT's preferred vendors were better for us and why without worrying about loyalty to certain vendors. On the other hand, I wouldn't (and didn't) limit myself to JT's house vendors. I did wind up using some and not others. Just go with your gut! Good luck!
Thank you so much everyone! I just knew I made the right choice when I booked my wedding with Jericho Terrace! I really wished I could have my wedding in the Dome Room but I love the Oak Room as well! As far as what's next definitely the photography/videography is next on my to do list. Thanks you so much everyone's imput I do appreciate it!

Re: Booked RH now what do I do?
Someone I know had their wedding there last summer and said it was the best venue and best food ever. Do they have an outdoor cocktail hour? I haven't found the right venue yet but I need to book ASAP because I was a summer wedding for 2012!
No outdoor cocktail hr but u should check it out anyways u never know I think the outdoor cocktail hr is completely over rated anyways. Think about your dress and its hot and your guests will be uncomfortable as well.
