booking honeymoon/ Sandals

Has anyone booked their Honeymoon at Sandals? FH and I have decided we are going to book Sandals Antigua! (HORAY! ) The one thing we are unsure of is if we should book online, or with a Travel agent. Just curious what you guys have done.

Thanks!

Congrats!! I think my FH & I might book there too. I know if you book online, you just pay the $400 deposit and then you can pay it off over time. I wonder if you can do that with a TA too?

I never knew this, good to know.
I've always booked with a TA and all I was required to pay up front was the airfare and could pay the rest off.

If I were you, I would book through Sandals, just incase you want to cancel or change it. Might be tricky with a travel agent. We booked Sandals in the Bahamas but I canceled it after seeing the reviews there. There was no fee to cancel. Or, ask the agent how that works and if they can get you a better price than what's on the website.

We're booked at sandals emerald bay and did it online. Only had to pay the 400 deposit so far!

This! I spoke with a Sandals rep and they said you can change your room/resort upto 43 days out from your trip. Which is a feature I really liked about booking online.

I am prob booking Sandals Grande in St Lucia soon (if I ever really decide lol) and am going through a TA. If there are any issues, delays, storms, etc I want a TA to call rather than an 800 number. I also will buy insurance for this level trip, since I am spending way more than I probably ever will again on a 8 or 9 night vacation.

I purchased the insurance too.. it was like an extra $200. Which totally made sense since the cost of my HM makes we wanna vom!

You are too funny!

What about the Renaissance Aruba? At least they are outside the hurricane belt if you're concerned about that.
