Re: Booking Question
We booked in June 05 for April 06. However some places were almost booked for 06, and my hall has only a few days left for next year now and they're booking 07 and 08 now.
You're probably right on schedule, the benefit you might have in booking now is securing the pricing before it goes up next year.

Re: Booking Question
We booked the reception location in October 2005 for an October 2006 wedding. Most of the places we looked at (we started looking last week of Sept.) had a few Sat eve available for October 2006. I did run into some trouble with bands that were already booked when I called in October. One actually told me they had been booked since June. My advice would be that if there are certain vendors like teh hall or band etc that you absolutely want, start looking now. I don't think it's ever too early...

We started planning Feb 2002 for our Sept 2004 wedding. We booked the hall 2 weeks after we got engaged.

Re: Booking Question
You won't have a problem.
I booked a September '06 wedding in April '05. But I could've just as easily found any date in the summer of '06, including May/Memorial Day weekend.

Re: Booking Question
we booked 10 months before our wedding - some people book earlier but you certainly don't have to. We had plenty of time and had a large wedding (invited over 300 guests)... you have plenty of time!
