Bored topic #2, Are you going to be a stay at home mom?

Who's bored?! I am !

Anyhow, i think when i have kids, I am going to stay home and raise them till they are in 3rd grade or so. If its a financial issue than i will go back to work but i generally want to raise my kids.

Hopfully i wont suffer from cabin fever!

i am going to be but the catch is that I have to wait for FH to be done with his residency - which won't be for 7 years... I'm gonna be an old mom

I might be for the first couple of years before they start school. I dunno though cause when I was home for a few days I was going nuts with bordem. We are moving out of state so we may actually be able to afford me staying home for a couple of years. I dunno for sure though yet.

I have no desire to stay at home. I'm too happy with my career that I can't imagine not working. Of course, that could all change once I have kids.

I am not sure, I'd like to be home as long as possible but at the same time i like working. Someone in my office was able to set up a deal with the boss where they worked part time from home and part time in the office for like the first year after they gave birth. Maybe I can do something like that. I think I would just work low key. But who knows, that could all change once i have kids.

im thinking of staying at work. i love teaching and couldnt imagine putting in so much time and energy into obtaining my career to drop it. maybe for a little while. but who knows if FH has an awesome job i might reconsider....or mayeb do like part time tutoring or soemthing

I'm not sure, it all depends on the financial situation. I will be a teacher so if I did stay home, once the kids are in school I would go back to work.

I wish I could but living in LI makes it almost impossible to be a stay at home mom. Maybe if I move out of NY.

I'll go crazy (I think!) if I am a stay at home mom! I would like to plan it so I have my babies in the summer, then I can go back to work in the fall...I'm a teacher. My mom and FHs mom both live within 15 min. of us, and have repeatidly asked us when they can start babysitting their grandkids...I'm thinkin sometime after I'm married!

I doubt it. We most likely won't be able to afford it.

i think i would go insane if i was a stay at home mom....i'd have to work at least part-time...i need time away from them..a little me time...tee-hee

i dont plan on it, but I may change my mind.

with housing costs the way they are, we wont be able to afford a house if I dont work

plus i worked so hard putting my self through college and grad school now

I want to stay home and raise my children also, just as long as it is financially possible. I don't expect FH to break his back trying to support us though. If we can, I plan on it.

I would love to work part time, but that is kind of unheard of for doctors. Perhaps i'll start a new movement.

I will work-just not as much-We will raise our children and our parents want to be involved some what.
